Thread: cool idea for merchant profession.
I think its a cool idea, but I think it could also work in reverse.
If you split it up by skill level it would work like this:
- Level 2: Link vendors together (so that customers can search all your vendors at once).
- Level 3: Link vendors together with other people's vendors (guildwide network of vendors).
- Level 4: Link vendors into the bazaar search so that as a player searches the bazaar they also see things on vendors.

I think you misunderstood. I like your idea too, but let me restate mine.
Make it so merchants themselves can run a search on OTHER people's vendors in the area for a certain type of item. Let them run that search from any vendor they want, doesn't matter. This will allow the merchant to do price comparisons between all the vendors in that area/planet/galaxy.
See? This isn't for regular players, but for merchants, so they can get the best prices on items and act as brokers for clients.
Oh no, I understood your idea and it does have merit, I just think that there should be wider networks of vendors. Vendors in general are less effective than the bazaar due to the bazaar's powerful searching capability.
At the moment we have to register vendors on the map in specific subcategories that people search. This is how they find resource vendors, etc. The bazaar is far more effective because it spans the entire galaxy and allows for easy comparrison for everyone across the board, it is a far more powerful selling tool than the vendor system.
