Thread: Remove browsing merchant XP!
For a true merchant it would be damaging to our reputation to trick our customers, but for holo-merchant, it is pure gain, as they do not intend to remain a merchant after they have achieved master.
As long as the holo-merchants can shorten thair grinding-time by tricking others into coming to thair shop and browsing thair vendors, some will do just that by any means. And that mean that we will have lots of vendors on the map that are named so as to make customers come and have a look, and we will have some yelling fake offers in at start port to make get customers to go to their shop...
If the only XP a merchant would get was the hourly XP, then holo-merchants would in no way be able to get throe faster by using underhand tactics. I believe this would make it easier for true merchants to make them self know to the customers. No customer would have to worry weather the merchant shouting about a cheep deal on his vendor was trying to trick them in to going there.
I second that emotion. Fraudulent merchants must be stopped!
To compensate, add Bazaar experience and Secure Trade experience. Merchant experience should be gained by actually selling stuff.
I ran into this on my server. Over near Theed are 3 small Naboo houses within close proximity of each other. One has a merchant named "Krayt Weapons" another "Skill Attachments" and another is called "Rare Resources". Each house had an access of 1cr. And each merchant was empty. It kinda pisses me off that I ended up giving this guy even 1 exp point. And I would have reported the player for fraud, except there was no way to tell who the owner was.
And is all else fain. Put down some harvesters and sell the resources.
Anybody can find something to sell.

No. The holo grind is ending. That post talks about converting to a quest based system for becoming a jedi. There is another post somewhere assuring players that they won't lose their efforst thus far. My understanding is that where ever you are in your quest to be a Jedi you will end up in the same spot in the new system. I have no idea about the details of what that system might be.

I'm glad you trust the Devs implicitly. If we can't, who knows...the next thing we hear, TH might put up a post saying that 1% decay in PvP is NOT going away! Then where would we be?
