Thread: Vendor vanished
Sometimes bizarre graphic glitches happen, and hopefully you will find your vendor has reappeared next time you log in. The fact that you can still see the stock is a good sign, had the vendor been destroyed for some reason there is a very good chance the stock would have been as well.
So log out and back in, and if that doesn't fix it hopefully the nightly server reset will.

I had a vendor disappear, and yet could still see the items from one of my other vendors. The vendor never returned. About two months after the vendor disappeared, Sony did reimburse me the resources (from whatever was current) for rebuilding what had been on the vendor (since they could go in with my character and see the items floating around in item purgatory).
It was funny, because the items would regularly tell me that they had fallen off of the vendor into the stockroom, and I could examine them and relist them, but couldn't retrieve them. Sony had a very difficult time helping me, because they just couldn't believe that items could be there, and not be accessible. They finally had some devs come in and use my character to see the items, but they couldn' figure out how to get to them. I would bet the entire bazaar/vendor system was outsourced when it was written, and nobody really knows how it works (or doesn't work). That is probably what is behind the "nerfing the vendors for the sake of the database."
Anyway, sorry for the rant. Your best bet, if the vendor doesn't come back, is to submit a ticket on it, and every week keep adding info to the ticket, and keep pushing for someone to pay attention to the problem. I finally had to post on the forum to get enough attention to get reimbursed. Write down the ticket number, and always use that when you post anywhere else, to show that you've been following procedure.

That is unfortunately a known issue. I've reported it. I think the vendor gets stuck in its loading phase and never comes back up. A server reset usually fixes those kinds of disappearances. I once had a brand new vendor disappear with dozens of sparkling new vehicles on it..luckily he decided to come back after only a 2 hour lunch.
I too just had this happen, I had almost 3mill in BE supplies and tissues on it.
Patience won over and it returned after the Server reset, which I think they actually did in the middle of the day because of other issues.
I did a test and place a single item on the floor of the house.
When I reloged (after reset)the Vendor was back and the Item was back in my backpack.
(can someone say Server rollback)
