OK now I am a former Master Merchant but i still have management IV and therefore 6 vendors. I usually read the patch notes, and am pretty active on the forums as well as the SWG homepage. But for some reason I just missed the whole Rule change about items getting deleted from your vendor's stockroom after 7 days. I noticed that this is in the in game Knowledge base, now, but when i reported a ticket all I got was sorry, that is the rule, you will not have your stuff replaced, and check out the SWG web page. Well i did check out the SWG webpage and it is about as useful as the manual that came in the box, unless you want to know about the Corvette, Jedi, or the new droids. So my question to the merchant community is how did you find out about this? because none of my merchant friends seem to know about it either. Or has this been in since day one and I just havent hit it yet?

Basically, I dont really care that much about stuff on the vendor, i mean it was probably about 500k of stuff, but really it was on there because it wasnt selling. Now I dont use my vendors for storage, I have four houses and some factories for that, but I will let stuff sit in the vendor for sometime , because I cant get out to the other side of the galaxy every night I am on, which is usually not for a very long time. But what gets me about this is I have been playing this game since August, was a master merhcant/master DE for 4 months, and still have a lot of merchant left, I consort with numerous other merchants, and yet i have never heard about this. Couldn't my vendor have just sent me a warning that my stuff would poof? Isn't seven days a little short to cut this for people who may not log in for 7 days? Aren't there better ways to communicate the rules than in the knowledge base that is linked through a pathetic holocron that I have accessed 9 times since I started playing, not to mention I have to know what to search for.

I'm sorry if i am rehashing a topic that might have been discussed here before as I dont frequent the merchant forums as much as i should, but am I the only one that thinks this is total BS?

I found out about it... somewhere down the line. Honestly can't remember, I've known about it either since it was added into the game, or since launch (not sure if it has been in the game since launch)

Well I sure didn't find out about it either until *POOF* 12.5 million units of resources, krayt tissues, krayt armor segments, skill tapes, armor attachments, 500 muon gold crates, smuggler tools, and countless other things....alll went Bye-Bye. Then I get the automated CSR response...this is the intentions of the game and the 7 day stockroom has been a rule since day one...we are sorry about this but there is nothing we can do....bulls*$%!!! The stuff in my stockroom was in there for over 35 days untouched and then the new patch came out and all of a sudden it was gone. Talked to my guildmates and some of them had just put items up for sale on Monday and went and checked...poof....gone also (wasn't even in the stockroom and the items were not purchased). The lack of customer support through help, responses, and guidance is really pathetic in this game. I have played since last August and every ticket I submit I get the same automated response. If you want to tell me top$#@off anddon't want to look into it, do so I would respect you more for that!!

sounds like you lost a lot more than I did. Basically my stuff wasnt selling and thats why it was in the stockroom. Now I probably lost about 500k of stuf but I wasnt using it as storage just too lazy to go get it, well problem solved.

But what really ticks me off through this whole exercise, is that rules like this are NOT in the manual that comes with the game, they are NOT in the holocron in game, and they are not in any of the Advanced Guides or anywhere on the SWG webpage. Now I usually read all the patch notes, but honestly I dont pay much attention to updates or notes regarding other professions, which when I started this game I was a BH so why should I pay attention to Merchant stuff. So there is no where for me to find this info. I guess before I embark on new things in the game I need to search all the patch notes and the knowledge base before doing so.

I noticed the 7 day rule is clearly outlined in the Knowlegde Base, but you can only get to the knowledge base in game through the customer service link, and the only reason I have to go to Customer service is because my stuff poofed. Basically, as complex as this game is the rules and policies are either so hidden, so poorly organized, or changed often that it is no wonder people have problems in this game. I guess I am the sort of person who likes to look things up and expects an answer to most questions in game, at least I know about the knowledge base now.

I would have been happy if my vendor could have sent an email saying, your stuff has 3 days left on the vendor before it is deleted. Not thatI log on everyday, but still I wouldnt have been as mad.
