Thread: Things I would like to see Merchants be able to do

Ok, I'm not a merchant right now, I'm a Bounty Hunter - but I have an interest in starting a Merchant character to play when I get tired of getting beat down in PvP until the Devs fix my profession. I hav't been looking at every post ever made here, so some of the things I suggets may be moot or already discussed. Maybe some of these could be handled by a Grand Master Merchant Profession, I don't know. I guess my topic is about things that would be cool to do that surpasses what is in place now. Nothong here is anything more than a suggestion, and deciding what you think would be fun to do as a merchantor what level it should be available is really up to you experts.
1) Fed-Ex - I have something on Talus and someone wants it on Naboo. I am hunting a Bounty, but my Guildie needs the item on Naboo to hunt his quary. I might not have the time to travel there, but I might have the time to drop off the item and pay a delivery fee.
2) Deliver to X - I see something from a merchant on Talus while passing thru, like a few cases of Stimpacs. I don't want to carry this around, since I'm on mission. I get an option for the item to be delivered directly to my house (an additional incentive to have a house).
3) Temp Storage - I am about to do some GCW battles, and want several bulk items handy. Being able to rent storage space, and have the fee deducted from bank or something would be cool.
4) Movers - a combination of the above, I want to move items from my house to some temporary storage facility. When done, I want them all moved back.
5) Holonet Sales - From My Home I am able to Browse differnt Merchants and their wares, buy the items, and they are shipped to my house.
6) Major City Vendors, Malls,Office Space Rental- We've all walked around the different planets; lots of buildings that are nothing but maze. Allow merchants to be able to place vendors and run stores in places like Tyrena, Coronet or Theed. Allow merchants to rent "Office Space" to other professions like Doctors or Image Designers in these Major Cities.
7) Outpost World Teminals and Businesses - there are some plantets that currently cannot be settled, like Yavin and Endor. Just becasue it cannot be settled doesnt mean there aren't business needs there, like temporary storage buying items globally and having them shipped to the outpost world.
8)Entertainer Holos - Would be kewl if an Entertainer or Entertainer Group could 'record' a performance somehow, and watch that performace in a hotel room, thereby receivingsome of thehealing benefits (or maybe Buffing benefits). Maybe a 'Royalty' system can be set up so the Entertainer gets an agreed percentage of whatever you get for viewing the performance.
9) Player Employees/Merchant Sponsered Missions- Players can be sent out for different tasks that they take on on the Merchant. This might be the mechanism for the Delivery things mentioned earlier. Instead of a player going to the Artisan Mission Terminal for survey missions, they can go to you and you pay them, they get XP, and you get to sell the material.
10) Business-to-Business Orders - An Armorsmith you do businees with places an order with you for diferent materials. You are able to 'hire' individuals as necessary to find materials that arent available, and move these materials to the Armorsmith. Then they can bring back finished good for you to sell

indeed, very cool ideas to the merchant profession. i really enjoy the "fed-ex" aspects. how to get them done though, have DE's make droids for merchants to handle these tasks?
