Thread: What's the best way to sell my stuff if I don't want to play a merchant.
So far I've been selling things on the bazaar. But it has a cap to how much I can charge. What's the best way to sell my stuff if I don't want my own vendor? Are there any people playing strictly merchant charcters who are just buying low and selling high?

Well, the only way you can do it without a vendor or the bazaar is to just work the streets.
Make a macro for selling your good and stand infront of a busy startport.
Simple - sell TO a merchant, who will post your items on his vendor for a modest markup.

But there is no way to do a consignment nor is there a way for me to gain access to a merchant friend's vendor is there?
Not at this time. We are asking for a consignment system in our Top 5. I'll be posting a summary of what we have come up with in a day or so.
Right now it is very manual but it is workable. Depending on what you are selling and the volume of merchandise you can either do a consignment system where the merchant handles all the reporting work or you can just sell him the items outright and let him mark them up and sell them on his vendor. I have used both systems effectively. It isn't easy to do consignments in the game currently but it is possible.
Its pretty much imposible to answer the question without knowing what you make - with weaponsmiths for example most will will not make every type of weapon and it would be easy enough to agree to supply their vendor with weapons to fill the gap. If your a Chef then its pretty easy to split your crates and sell on the Bazaar, send a tell to any buyers to offer a full crate if your in the city where they bought the item.
I am also an almost pure merchant. I buy weapons in bulk, slice and resell. I also run the retail sales division of the largest power mining company on my server (GodaPower) as a purely merchant endeavor.
I do craft spices and tools, but I will also buy them from other smugglers so I dont have to spend the time crafting.
Here's my advice for dealing with Merchants: Find out who sells what you make. Then send them a well thought out email, describing your product, the retail sales price and what you would sell it to the merchant for. If they accept, then you can use the offer function. But I usually decline random offers unless it's a fantastic deal on an item I can use. In general, if you want to sell anything in this game, you have to talk to and deal with other players. The more you interact, the more you sell.
