I'm just asking if we lose our map advertisement once we drop merchant. How is that an exploit if that's how the game works?
Before you ask these questions, why don't you read the FAQ stickied on the top of the boards?
Seriously, people keep asking same stuff over and over again when the answers are all there, stickied, right at the top of the boards. It really isn't that hard to do your own homework, is there?

Because SOE directly answered the exact question you just posted saying that this is not the intention of the the skills use. You should keep the skill points in Merchant if you plan on being a legitimate player and not an exploiter.
Exploiters ruin the game's fun for everyone.

To answer your question no you will not lose your vendors or advertisement. However this has been said to be getting fixed in the near future, so use with caution. Just remember there are those of us that use our skill points to KEEP this useful profession, so exploit, no exploit decide for yourself.
