I have been master merchant on both my characters for awhile now, this is not because this is the most exciting profession but I like having nice looking vendors and I have a very wide range of products, some I make and some I trade froma few locations.

However, I cannot let my skill points get wasted like this and unless to drop merchant to take up a few other things, I am going to be stuck and most probably drop the game.

At present, vendors stay if I drop the skills related but is there a more firm date or something or does someone have more info on this topic, I have far too much stock to let it disappear along with my vendor if this does happen over night!

Please help me on the above issue! Thanks!

Now here's a radical idea. Sell at wholesale prices to other merchant or crafters.

Throw a Clearance sale.

Destroy the Merchandise.

Just don't exploit.

Trust me. I would love to be a TKM or Master Armorsmith too, but right now my skill points are kinda locked into this profession as they should If I want to keep my vendorsas it stands now. So don't exploit. Get rid of the vendors when you remove the skills.

If you have two merchants on the same server then I would drop one and sell everything through your merchant character, if you can trust them, lol. Another option is to look at your stock and consolidate your items onto less vendors or onto one. If you are placing multiple vendors for different types of items in the same store then consolidation will be easy. If you have your vendors spread out around the galaxy, then it gets tricky, but you might have to close one of your least productive shops. Closing shops is really not that big of a deal. As a master merchant you probably have 80k of merchant xp floating around to spend on getting some skills back and merchat xp is really not that hard to get.

Basically, do what you have to do to have fun. If you want to be a TKM/ M. Armorsmith then do it, dont just wish it. I keep management I-IV to keep six vendors up. I only stock 3 of them and one of those never sells anything, so I will probably be dropping my vendors and Management pretty quick. And really management I-IV ties up only 20 SP on top of business, sure you cant dress up your vendors or do ad barking, but just set all of that now and keep management. 9SP=1 vendor, 20SP=2 vendors, 25SP=3, 29SP=4, 32SP=5, and 34SP=6 (including Business I-IV), those really aren't huge SP commitments.

I have a question for Balkstar though, since I have dropped ad barking and all but management I-IV, is it an exploit that my vendor still ad barks and wears theclothes I put on them? Just a question, not a flame.

Also you could master TK, armorsmith and still leave you 66 SP to dump into merchant, 20 into business I-IV and novice merchant, and then you 46 SP left to spend, thats 3 trees and some change.

I appriciate that you post it as a question, and not as a flame. I assume the ad barking option is no longer availible in the Vendor Managment menu, so you don't have the option to turn it off. The problem with it is that you consciously removed the skill points while still using the skill when it was still availible to be turned off, thus it is an exploit.

Clothing is much less simple of an issue. Since there is no reset button to return original clothing to the vendor, even with the skill points alotted, its not as serious an exploit. It becomes much greater of an exploit in my eyes when someone gains the skill, changes the dress of the vendor, then immediately removes the skill points. That to me thisis so flagrant an exploit that it should not be tolerated by the Merchant community. For long standing merchants that have vendors out for prolong periods of time, I would not really make a big deal out of it.
