Just a quick question. I'm a MD/MBE so no were close to merchant. Mad Props to you all though. My question is that I heard last night amoungst some people on the Dath OP, that next patch is going to limit the venders to 150 items. If I could get some feed back on this as I have well over 400+ items on a vendor right now. God forbid I lose all my med supplies that the vendor offers to people. Thanks

We don't know yet what the final solution will be. I can tell you that there will NOT be any vendor item limits in the next publish (which is scheduled to go to test center any time now) but that there will likely be some sort of change for the publish after that.

The bottom line is that the vendors and bazaar have too many items on them and the devs want that to change. We don't have the specifics on how they will change it yet. It will be undobutedly painful for ANYONE who has large amounts of items on a vendor.

Whew.....Ok thanks for the help. As far as to many items if the devs would stop npc/creatures from dropping junk it would help a great deal. I mean come one who reallywants a broken datapad....and wow is gonna want avery crappy sword when they can buy one for a good price thats way better. Not me, so I either try to sell it, or just delete it. I'm afraid more often than not I sell it though. /shrug

Anyways thanks for the heads up thats a huge load off my chest...atleast for now.

Even if they removed all the loot in th game (and who would miss 99% of it) it wouldn't really fix the problem because most of the items for sale are not loot but crafted items and resources. There are a number of problems that are leading to this and one of them is that some people are using the vendors for long term storage which isnt' what they were meant to be used for and that isn't helping the situation.

when the vendor nerf does go through...what will happen to the items on the vendors if they are holding more then the decided limit? Im being cautious as of late to not put more then 150 on each vendor..just incase that is the limit they place on us...but not everyone is limiting themselves...what happens to the overstock on those who have more then the limit when that patch does go though? Will they be returned to us? dissappear altogether? Or be placed in the stockroom?

I don't know. I'll try to make sure that question is answered before it gets implemented. I suspect that they won't remove items from a vendor that are already for sale but you wouldn't be able to relist them. That would mean that theoretically you could have more than the limit for about 30 days until they expired the first time but you wouldnt' be able to list anything new during that time.

That is a guess based on how these things usually works.

Is there any word on what will happen to vendors that are owned by non-merchants? It seems unfair to pick an item limit based on the number of items on all vendors, rather than first getting rid of the illegitimate vendors and then evaluating the item storage situation based on the number of items in vendors owned by merchants.

We haven't been given an answer to that. I do know that TH said that they were going back to look at it based on the feedback of the player base in general and also our profession feedback as well. We'll just have to see.

vendor limits.. stupid stupid Idea.. Ok if the limit was like 600 or 1000 that might be reasonable but 110 or whatever crappy low number it is? jeez. Howbout raising item limits in each house by like 100 then or bazaar limit to like 50. I dont want to have to get master merchant to be able to have a good number of items for sale. Like this causes any lag anyway what gives.
