Merchant Terminals
Every player would like to see what every vendor has instead of wasting their time.I know b/c I was there when I began the game. I would spend 2+ hours looking for one item.So why not create a new terminal that works like a mission/bazaar terminal.Have it search regional, planet, and galaxy. But instead of bringing up each vendor it’ll just bring the player’s name. Each merchant would be allowed to create one main box and 12 sub boxes. The main box will be the name they chose to show up on the terminal. The 12 sub boxes will obviously be the new vendors. From that point on each vendor will have a serial number. That way when they feel like uploading a new vendor they just initialize the vendor on the merchant terminal then add the serial and poof its up and running on the merchant terminal. That would save a lot of people a good deal of time when they should be playing.
And you could see the stats of the grouped items. Also, we could have a hot deal of the day/week.This would go under a separate tab in the menu. This would allow vendors to post deals they have and let the whole galaxy of players who don’t read the forums see what’s going on.I know we have the auction chat but if people could read what’s on the terminal it would eliminate a lot of that spam that goes on there too and actually be used as an auction forum.
The vendor limit sucks!
Boy I am with everyone on this one…but I thought what if they modified how vendors were set up.That’s right imagine all the space we’d have. How you might ask?If we’re able to stack our resources why not just stack our items on the vendors in the same form.Tell the vendor “these 200 power hammers I just put on you…sell them at 8k each”. You just tell the vendor how many you want to sell at a said priceand it sells you number of that item. This would mean people who sell 1,000 powers ups of the same kind will only take up 1 box. It’ll also allow people who don’t know how to use the next button to see your inventory much quicker. This could have an added benefit for resource sellers. You could charge a new rate of 12cpu, and then if they hit a certain amount it would lower to 10cpu, then 8cpu or what ever you cap would be.Honestly, this wouldn’t be too hard to implement b/c all databases have a quantity/price values. It would create a definite less strain on the server by allowing more rows off vendors for any memory shortage. To me if they reduce the ammount of cells dedicated to items and just concenrated on the database looking at the quanity on hand value it'd prevent a lot more database use.
Any input would great. I'm just out in hopes to help all us merchants!
