Thread: New Limitations on Vendors

I must say I am surprised (to say the least) that I do not see more discussions on the up & coming vendor limitations. Maybe I have missed something & it's not happening now...? Maybe a different forum...? Or maybe I really am the only one to care! lol Ok, I am outraged by this limitation! Yes, getting rid of empty vendors on the maps is a must. Yes, alot of us abuse the vendors by the 9999999 sales. BUT, we would not have to do this if we could store more items in our houses. The limit of items allowed in a house is ridiculously low, & using the vendor as a storing tool was really all alot of us had. I have been playing this game for a year. And if you have been playing any amount of time you would have seen me on. I am on day & night for hours upon hours. Honestly, what amI suppose to do with all the items I accumulate. Sell them? I don't need the money. Give them away? I do that sometimes. But what it comes down to is if I have 100 crystals because all I do all day is kill Janta's, I want to hang on to them & use them after Publish 10. So, they now take up a small house if I wish to store them. OR,I throw them on my vendor for 9999999 & they take up no space, the vendor is not on the map & not advertised, so it causes no one else any problems. What is wrong with that??? Yes, fix the Merchant Skill. Revamp it. Shoot, get rid of it completely & make one row in all crafting tree's a merchat row. But do not get rid of the vendor storage. OR an even better idea...Make the houses be able to hold a reasonable amount of items. I would take 1k. But it should be even higher than that. I am just very upset I am not allowed to store what I want without having to trade lots between servers &/or keeping my inventory down to 500 items between my own inventory, backpack, bank & one house. I'd like to hear anyone elses thoughts...
As far as it being discussed, well you didnt read very far then. It's only been the talk for the last few weeks until the credit dupe thing started. This game is all about spending skill points to get certain skills. If you want to have some extra 'storage' then get bus 3/4 and that will give you like 300 slots IIRC according to the new limits. Merchant is a profession. It does more then let you place a vendor. It allows you to advertise on the map, allows lower maint fees on buildings / structures / vendors etc etc. They have said before that the way vendors were working ATM was NOT what was planned and that it WOULD be changing. If you want to be a pack rat you'll need to use a few lots for small houses. Which leads me tooooo
Storage in houses... Yes it's too low for the amount of impact it has on what lots you have available vs items. 1000 per house? Not gonna happen (expect maybe in larger buildings). I do see at some point either 'add ons' that can be installed in an existing house to increase storage by xx number of items per houseand the number of addons you could install were equal to the lots taken up. So instead of 75 items for a small, it would only accept one addonand would give you another 75 items in that house. Up to guildhalls that take what, 9 lots? So in that case you'd have initial storage of 250 ( i think, never placed one so have no idea) plus 675 'extra'.
There is no reason for infinate storage. If you have THAT many items sell 'em, use 'em, give 'em or destroy 'em.
edit 2: Oh good lord, I just saw they have SIX WHOLE POSTS since Jan, and come here blabbing about something. Wonder if the results of their other 5 glorious posts are recieved in the same way as this one.

edit: PS, Doc I agree with ya, but usually I understand there are special people around that sometimes miss things
. So I will sometimes post to them.

Vendors were never intended for storage so if they decide they want to put limits to stop gameplay that should not be happening you have no reason to complain. Now if they suddenly decide that you can place a vendor but cannot sell any items off it then you might have a case. Until then you will just have to put up with the changes that most of the rest of us are very happy to see coming.
OR, goto another forum area where people feel they are getting cheated, with theexception of a few merchants here, most of us wont 'be on your side'.
I agree with Doshae, I'm happy to see something for the skill points we spent.
