I'm tired of having a sucky ineffective template.
I ordered another box from Amazon and my wife, who actually enjoys this sort of stuff (*boggle*), is going to make a Master Merchant and run all my BE Vendors for me while picking up Chef and Master Artisan herself.
I knew there was a really good reason I married her...

Huzzah! A workaround for the lack of merchant tools, and it only cost you another SWG account!
It's making less and less business sense for Sony to implement any fixes to the profession other than poaching - why would they, when it has the potential to double their income from so many players?
Gratz on getting the wife to join you, though.

hehe... nice wife. Gotta love women that enjoy games.
but that sucks that you are buying another account mainly so you can have vendors. Poached vendors are a better solution than that in my opinion. But like p4samwise said... it is great if you look at it from SOE's perspective. More money for them from a character that likely won't be in the game that much. (not saying your wife won't play much.. just in general secondary accounts like these are not as played as the main ones -- yet they make SOE the same amount of money.)

This is the REAL intention of this publish in the first place... Anyone who says otherwise is a fool or works for SOE (or both)

Ayup - this was the gamble. Will more folks get the second account - or will more folks with only one quit. If it ends up being more of a wash, I'd be surprised - but we'll never know.
My personal opinion is most folks that wanted or needed multiple accounts already have them. Course I suppose they thought it might be a danger that those with multiple accounts might cancel a few if they weren't absolutely necessary.
Even that is a gamble - the more of your userbase with multiple accounts, the more disasterous unpopular decisions are, you aren't just losing one here or there.
Anyone left that still thinks the single player per server was ever for 'game balance'?
I guess Jedi can be merchants - not real sure on that one as I've had zero interest in it - but I think I read it somewhere. Is game balance good if everyone is a Jedi? Don't those folks pretty much make all their own stuff? I know they can make all their own clothes (and new clothing unique to them - a major gripe among tailors) anyone know about their weapons, etc?
But two accounts should do it for ya, I've always had 2 for the same reasons - mine and my hubbies and we playon different servers, my 3rd came later.

Hell, I'm up to 3 accounts now, and only one of them have any 'real' combat skills (my CM has 0404 marksman). This isnt the game I play if I want to fight stuff, that's what EQ was to me. This one is a crafting game for me.

Nope, never did actually.
I personally got mine (second account) six months after I started playing for the extra lots (before I even heard of "lot trades") and the ability to sell my own wares (I tried working through a guildmate, but it was always a BIG hassle). Both characters help support my Interior Design/Furniture Business and I've been a comfortable multi-millionaire ever since.
Cheers
