I posted this on the Artisan board, but thought it relevent here too.

Here is my short list of bazaar improvements I would like to see. This is based on my having made many many sales through the bazaar, not one of which was a cdef or power up. My product line generally sells for 200+ cr. I typically sell 5-10 items per day.

1) The amount of slots you are allowed to use increased with Business Skill

I recommend 15 + 5/level of business. This would reduce low end garbage sales somewhat while at Business IV we would have 10 more slots then we do now. Perhaps also for Master Artisan. It would provide a purpose to the business discipline apart from owning your own store.

2) Allow remote deletion of incomplete sales

Right now if I pull an item of the market on another planet, it takes up a slot until I travel to that planet to pick it up. Often the value of the item is far less then the cost to travel there. I would like the option to remove the item remotely.

3) Add the location purchased to the notification email

Right now I may be in the field and get three or four emails saying items have been bought. I wont know WHICH bazaar that needs to be restocked until I get to a bazaar terminal. If I see four items bought and they are all from the same terminal, I may travel there to fill it. If it is from four different terminals, I probably let it ride. I would like to know this BEFORE I return to town.

4) Display base item.

This is critical. We need to know what the item was prior to it being renamed. There are many folks get defrauded this way. I always leave the base item name as the front of a name.. but I know others are not so honest. This will also make filtering easier.

5) Description on Hover

Lets have the seller's description come up when the users mouse hovers on the item. This is where I am going to list properties that I didnt know until the product was made. For instance.. the number of sockets, if any. If I have a 4 socket backpack on the market, I want to be able to charge more and have people be able to find out why very easily.

6) More categories

We need categories for each ranged weapon and melee weapon type. We need a seperate category for CDEF entirely. CDEF weapons are stifling arms sales.

7) Base type filtering

A user should be able to include or exclude certain base types from their listing. If they are looking for a scout pistol, they should be able to filter to just scout pistols. If they are NOT looking for a CDEF weapon, they should be able to filter that.

8) Premium auctions need highlight and need to maintain position on resort.

RIght now a premium auction does sort itself at the top, but that only lasts until the first resort. Premium auctions should be grouped and sorted at the top ALWAYS. Thats what I payed for. They should also have a different color.

9) Socketed items should have a yellow name in the bazaar too.


So why didnt I list the "relist item at different price" request that folks have? My fear is that it will create an even more unstable "undercutting" bazaar then we have now. I am not sure I would support that change. It is sufficient to me to delete the item remotely.

I'll throw a great change in also.

Sort cloths by the piece of clothing. It can be such a pain to wade thru everything to find what you want. Make it sortable by footwear, shirts, pants, jackets, etc.

On a side not I wish I could do that with my crafter also. It would be a god send if all the shirts or pants where in one spot instead of alphabetical order.

I totally agree. I stopped looking for a weaponupgrade in the bazaar, since I got sick of wading through 1300+ ranged weapons, that you have to /detail separately.

I wish there was some sort of overall quality mark for items so you could choose to view just the items with quality 8+ or some, though I guess this would be too hard to implement, since some qualities are hard to put in a number.

Right now I search for the highest priced items, at least you can expect the better stuff to be amongst those, though you will have to be carefull, since people tend to put crappy items for sale for ridiculous prices too.

Good list, I agree. I am pretty sure they will make many tweaks to the bazaar in the future, the big question is: will it be sooner or later.

To tell which bazaar the item was sold from, price them differently.
