Once a factory is setup and running do you gain XP for the goods it manufactures or do you still have to grind away with your tool kit and make items by hand to getting crafting XP?

You get full experience if you're really close to it while it's working, otherwise you do not get anything.

I dont' seem to have to be all that close, just logged in. It stops the minute I log out. This seems bugged to me. Why does the factory stop giving you XP when you log out but the vendor is designed to give you xp when you are not there. Doesn't make any sense to me. *shrug*

how close is 'close'? I've been over 2300m from factory and still been getting xp. I think I have been getting xp as long as I have been logged in if it is running a job, at the same rate no matter where I am located on Tatooine in relation to the factory. I havent ventured more than 2500m from factory since I put it up yesterday so there could be a limit beyond that range.
