Thread: Warning – don’t sell resources on your ven

Back in beta there was a bug with the bazaar where resource containers that had been split would not ‘retrieve’ correctly. One of the split containers would ‘retrieve’ with ALL the resources, and the others would be stuck in limbo, as basically unretrievable items.


I’ve unfortunately duplicated this bug with my vendor as of last night. I found that split resources sold to another player and resources that were removed from sales by me produced a set of resources containers in the retrieve window (stockroom). One of the split resources containers would return ALL the resources when ‘retrieved’, leaving the others stuck and basically ‘empty’.


My current, untested workaround is to grab the resources in the ‘sale’ amounts directly from the resource gathering hopper. In this way I think I can avoid needing to ‘split’ the resource.


Hopefully this and other vendor bugs can be fixed in an upcoming patch.

Can anyone else confirm this as I was just about to set up a resource shop and if this is what happens I'm doomed. Still at least I found out before I started so thanks for the warning NPStan.

dor.I can confirm this does *not* happen for me or anyone I know who sells thousands upon thousands of units of resources via a vendor a day.

dor.Question: are you spliting the items before you put them in the vendor or while they are in the stockroom? It maybe an issue tied to where you split the stack.

your vendor.I always split the stacks while they're still in my inventory. I don't think you can split stacks in the stockroom.

dor.Yes. The only workaround I can see is not selling more than one stack of a given resource. I took all of my split stacks and recombined them and put them up for sale that way. We'll see if that helps.

dor.I purposely harvest extra steel to sell to cover my harvester costs. I always split off a couple stacks of 1000 and sell them via vendor. I've yet to have this problem or a complaint from my customers. (Unless this just popped up late last night, anyway.) I've not seen this issue.

dor.This issue has been around since Beta, but it's sproadic. Many of my resource sales work without issue. Some give me no end of trouble.
