Thread: Multiple vendors: Can you put one in a structure you do not own?
Okay. So we merchants can have multiple vendors. Cool. (or not?)
The possibilities for this include:
1) You can have multiple vendors in a single structure that you own. This, in my opinion, is not so useful. Sure you can have a vendor each for different types of items, but it's overkill, as a single vendor can show any item you have for sale, anywhere. Plus it may be confusing when Anynamebacca buys his wookie gear from the wrong vendor, and can't figure out that he must retrieve it from the one right next to it.
2) You can have a vendor in each of the structures that you own. But I don't want multiple structures. That takes up available lots.
3) You (*perhaps*) can place a vendor in someone else's structure, given certain permission. Now THIS is interesting. I could drop one in a friend's place (whohas a big customer base)and another's, and another's....
This third possibility is something that I can't figureout, however. I tried it with a friend who gave me admin, vendor, entry, etc permission for his house. It would not let me drop the vendor from my inventory into his house. Fair enough. So I give the vendor to my friend. He cannot drop it either, and it's HIS house. (Max volume investigated and foundNOT to be the issue here).
I've heardstories ofpeople placing vendors in structures they do not own (especially in guild halls, where each of the members might have a vendor).
So tell me, fellow merchants, can this be done? If so, how? If not, what's so good about having multiple vendors?
TIA
Make a terminal. Not a NPC vendor or a droid. Both of those seem to get bugged when traded. Then give the terminal vendor to your buddy. Have him place it for you. You initlize it and use it like normal.
I got 5 or 6 other ppls vendors in my place.
Sweet!
Can anybody else confirm the droid machine thing works. I am out of slots because I have to run all my groups buildings currently to provide them a vendor.
Thanks, Xcal78! I will try that immediately! Brilliant!

PS
Ah, I have confirmed that once someone else has your NPC vendor (and they cannot drop or destroy it), that person can return it to you (then you can destroy it, or whatever) by selling it back to you through one of your other vendors.

So only the big ugly vending machine works for this workaround? I tried giving my wife an NPC vendor I made for her house last night as a workaround, and got an error message when we tried using the trade window.

as you move up yu can get nicer looking terminals than the bulky one, such as the standard bazaar terminal.
Sucks to be me.
