Posted this on the main board, but thought it wouldnt hurt to cross post it here since it will likely scroll off that board in 10 mins

Back at the end of beta there was a bug that if you put a factory crate down in your house, you would not be able to pick it up. Thankfully it was fixed..... so I didnt think much when I dropped a few crates down in my house, apparently that was a mistake. The bug has been re-added to the game, so a warning to anyone with crates, dont put them on the floor of your house.

They only screw up if you stack a bunch on top of each other, then it won't let you pick up any of them. However, there's a workaround - target one, use "/move forward" or "/move back", and it'll moveout ofthe stack so you can pick it up.

I put them to close to each other and freaked out but using the move method so they where not stacked let me pick them back up.

I didn't know anything about the move command but a CSR did and moved them for me.

I thought that stack of crates was going to be there until I tore the house down.

Sir, it's quite possible that this game is not entirely stable.

"Not entirely stable." Well, I'm glad you're here to tell us these things. Chewie! Take the professor in the back and plug him into the patch server!

Well, that's silly. I petitioned about this 3 times now and all I got was a request to /bug it. If it's a known issue, why wouldn't I be able to get any help from them?

Thanks for the tip here. =)

Still, be wary of crates.. if the server seems unstable at all, DON'T OPEN THAT CRATE! Do it in unpopulated areas that don't crash much, NOT in the center of the biggest city that goes down regularly.

Why?

Because if you are pulling items out of a crate, and the area server crashes... and you are rolled back to when the crate had the items in it... you can NO LONGER REMOVE items from the crate.. it is basically little more than furniture at this point.

Just a word of advice that really there isn't much you can do about... but if you have crates that suddenly you can't use, this is probably why... the server crashed while you were accessing it, and bugged it. Lost a crate of 98 struct units this way (what's25,000 resources anyway? *shrug* *cry* )
