Hello,

I am a Novice Merchant, only been a merchant for a short time...anyhow, how do we go about switching to a different vendor?

The reason I am asking, is I thought the way to change vendors was to place a new vendor, which would contain the same items as the first one, then delete the first one. This is what worked for me when I switched from a droid vendor to a random NPC vendor. When I did that it worked great, no problems.

But today I decided to swicth to a different vendor, I created a new one, placed it, looked and it had all the items as the first one. So I removed the first one...

And then I lost about 60-70 items. I got e-mails saying those sales were unsuccessful. The items are gone. The new vendor has 25 of the original vendor's items. 20 in the 'for sale' area, and 5 in the stockroom.

Now I figured if this had just been a total mistake on my part, the new vendor would be completely empty, and I would have lost everything from the original vendor. But it isn't, it just seems to have the 25 cheapest things I had for sale on the original vendor, lol... *sigh* Relogging did not help.

Anyone have any idea what happened here? Did I just totally mess up or is it a bug with the game? I submitted an in game ticket...

I tried searching to see if anyone else has had this happen, but so far I didn't see anything. But just in case, I apologize if this problem has already been addressed.

The problem here is that when you checked the new vendor, you did not filter to show items ONLY on the new vendor, it defaults to all items in the region, which means all your vendors (if they are in the same shop, or in any shops near by). The items don't move themselves over, you hafta do it by hand (which is a total pain, believe me).

When I switched from the droid to the NPC, I didn't have to do it by hand, and I didn't lose anything.

Hmm, very strange.

Also, the 25 items on the new vendor were not put there by hand, they are 25 of the original vendor's items.

That is partly why I am so confused.

I think what the person was trying to say was when you looked at the vendors list of stuff, you were maybe looking at a list of the stuff in that "region" (which is the default option).

This means that you were viewing all of the items on both vendors from the new one. Maybe you thought it meant the items moved over?
