Thread: Can't declare house Private with vendor inside
Also, making the house private sometimes is a safety measure to keep the odd Crazed Durni from chasing me into the house and beating the crap out of me in my living room.
If this is intentional, it's stupid.
Wasn't like this before the patch.
It's "my" house, if I want to make it private I should have that option, seeing as I cannot sell my items out of any one else's vendor (I could, but it's a huge pain).
My house is private and only PA members are allowed to purchase from my vendor... is whatyou arereferring to a new developent...?

What if I want to only "sell" to a specific list of clients? by name only entry? (PA comes to mind here). What if I need to temporarily close down the shop?

The Same thing happened to me today. My House was private before the patch so it was still private BUT I could not add any more items to my vendor, it kept telling it it was an invalid item. So I cleared my vendor out and recreated it. Then when I tried to place it the client told me i can't place a vendor in a private structure.
This is not right, how are we suppose to offer items to otherPA Membersat reduced costs? I can't stay online 24/7 to trade it all the time.
I honestly can't think of any good reason to do this. As a Tailor I also grant some customers access to my building so they can purchase their Orders from me with security knowing that no one else will purchase their stuff and now this is not possible as anyone can walk in and buy it.
As the above poster experienced, I think it will still be private, but you won't be able to use your vendor until you make it public.
I don't like this...
Not one bit.
This was due to a grief.
Like other people here, I wanted to have a vendor for my friends, with low prices. So I had two houses :
1- Public Shop with Vendor A and furnitures normal price. Entry fees though (it prevents the animal from entering your house, free tip for you ![]()
2- Private House near with Vendor B and furnitures low price. Friends on Entry list.
What's the probleme here ? People goind to Vendor A can see items in Vendor B. Yes they can, because the default listing is "This Region" and not "Vendor A". They can buy items in Vendor B, but they can't retrieve items cause they need to go to Vendor B. And my house is closed. They can't enter it
-> grief
The vendor system is like the Bazaar. Each PLAYER has his own Bazaar, and all his vendor are connected to his Bazaar system. I don't have a good suggestion for it, except that you should simply have a "This item should only be sold to [Player_Name]" option.

you apparently don't ever use a vendor. The region option is only for the owner of the vendor. He can accpet/reject/place for sale (from the stockroom not inventory) to any vendor he/she has. When you go look at a vendor you don't get that option at all.
I actually like this change, especially with the fixes to house admin and vendors not taking up storage space. It prevents people from getting BusIII, puttinga vendor in their private house, putting a bunch of items on at 1cr each, and having instant unlimited free storage. Thus exploiting our class for an advantage that legitimate merchants do not enjoy.
If you want to offer your goods at a discount to a select few, there are work-arounds. Put the items in a bag in your house, set them to admin, have them take one and either /tip you the price or put an item on your vendor for the correct amount. Put things on the vendor at the regular price, and if you get a sale from a PA mate (you'd be able to tell from the email) /tip them the discount, or again have them place an item for you to buy. Or you could always set your house entry fee to 1000cr and call it guild dues. ![]()
