Thread: What is it you guys do?
I finally got my first house up. I planned on master medic/master doctor/master heavy swordsman/scout with exploration 1
This uses up all of my skill points. Then i come to find out, i cant place a vendor in my house. Why? Because your stupid proffession exists. I hate you! Now i have to drop 2 skill boxes in doctor so i can get business 3 lol. That sucks.
Frankly, i just think you guys should "loan" vendors out and make a small profit on every sale that is conducted through that vendor. Of course, the problem with that is, that the bazaar would just be cheaper, although less "glamorous" since noone would have a reason to visit the house then. Maybe 50 creds to you for every sale conducted on one of your vendors? Dunno, but this class needs some fixing. I think its absolutely obscene that i should have to drop my master doctor status and 2 skill boxes, and novice scout/exploration 1 just so i can have a stinking little vendor in my own home. And please dont say i should sell my stuff at your place on your vendor, just think of how dumb that sounds lol.
How do you think the real world works?
(and dont hit me with this is a game, real world examples dont count. I am aware that this is a game, but sometimes you need real world examples to illustrate why a system is the way it is)
You have a Pharmicutical company. They make and sell drugs and medicines. But they dont sell to you. Who do they sell to? Pharmacies (merchants) who resell them for a profit)
You own a Gun manufacturing plant, like Glock or Smith and wesson, and you make and sell guns. Who do you sell guns to? Gun stores and Wallmart. (Merchants)
Do you see where I am going with this?
What we do is Buy and sell your good for you, so you dont have to go out there and find every single customer. You just need to find one merchant, sell to him at a profit to yourself, and then they sell at a profit for themselves. At least that is how it is supposed to work.
Unfortunaltely since you can make master whatever artisan and still have enough points left over for several vendors, it kind of makes it harder for people in this game to be true merchants, in the real world sense of the word. I have found it seems that most people take merchant along with a crafting tree in order to sell their own goods, although there are some very creative and smart players out there who are now (since it is now possible to drop a vendor in another players house if you are a house admin) renting out their houses as mini malls and such Good thinking guys.
In your particular case, it sounds to me like you have a full plate there what with 3 master professions.. So why dont you either drop some and take up merchant, or stop complaiing about how unfortunate you are because you have to find someone else to sell your goods for you.
I wont even start in on the lost profesion of Industrialist. You know...Factory owners who would rent out their factories to you the crafter to do factory runs of your stuff for you. It was one of the most promising professions (to me anyway) that was talked about alot in development, but ultimately was pulled before Beta 3 i believe. /sigh
Anyway. Hope that answered your question.

aloof here, but concerning your quote:
"I think its absolutely obscene that i should have to drop my master doctor status and 2 skill boxes, and novice scout/exploration 1 just so i can have a stinking little vendor in my own home. "
Thousands of starving children across the globe; thats obscene. Your situation? a minor annoyance in a video game.
perspective goggles on....Ahhh much better.

It's not a punishment. I mean, if you are a Brawler you had to pay Skill Credits to get it right? If I use anything above what the Generic Crafting tool can make in Melee or Ranged Weapons I receive a penalty for using it...why, becuase I am not trained to use it. Much like a Ninja with a Katana...you think you gonna win a sword fight with a Ninja after your 1 year of Karate Classes, or if even if you have never trainied to use a sword at all.
You are killing me. Everyone has to pay Skill Credits to be able to do what that skill entails. Let me ask you this. If you were a person that was suffering from some type of major allergy and had a Needle loaded with Epinephrine(sp), do you think you could give yourself that injection if you were not a trained Medical Person?
You have skill credits to train with....Use them as you see fit, but when you run out...don't cry about it...change your character to the best playability that you see fit within the same guidlines that everyone else has to. If you want to be a Master Swordsman and a Master Medic that is fine, but if you do not have enough Skill Credits left to train into the Artisan Profession and Train all the way up to business 3 (and hopefully soon you will have to train all of the business tree plus train Novice Merchant to get a Vendor) then either drop something or find a Merchant that will work out a deal with you to sell your Medical Supplies.
i'm not blaming you guys. It was a joke. I am a low-end dealer of stimpacks and medical supplies(though only good quality stuff). I just wanted to sell in my time at my own home. I could understand if i was selling large quantities of stimpacks and med supplies, but i don't. The problem with Merchant is, that it's not as useful to us as it should be. I want to sell my stuff on tatooine, near AH so i can support fellow rebel players. But since there are no merchants there then i have to spend my own skill points to sell my stuff at my own home.
I think merchants should be able to purchase a "Merchant Market" type of house. Not as big as a PA hall, but bigger then a large house. And be able to place them closer to cities, this way people can actually have a place to stop by without having to run very far and it would be very noticable.

Dont spew out that. That has nothing to do with this. What i am talking about is obscene IN the game. It has nothing to do with ANYTHING on the outside world. I can say, well it's obscene of you to be paying $15 a month to play this game and have fun, while those kids have no games or money, why dont you spend it on them instead of yourself huh?

try taking this up with the devs, and not thepeople in the profession. We didn't choose to punish you. We're not the enemy here.
