Thread: Vendors Registered with the Global Map

Not sure how many other Merchants have this ability yet, but i got it yesterday and wanted to let everyone know how it works:

1) One you get Ad III skill each of your merchants will have a new item "Register Vendor" in their management menu.

2) Once you select to register your vendor you are given a small window with a list of the different categories you can register your vendor under.

3) Once you select one it will tell you that your maintenance rate has gone up (which was not a noticeable amount to me, still have 39+ days on my vendor maint)

4) Then once you open the global map and expand the "vendor" folder you will see not only the usual "junk" sub folder but a new sub folder for each category you listed your vendors under.

On tip to keep in mind, on the global map it will list the name of your vendor as exactly what you name it when you create it. So i would advise you create a name that will help identify you and your shop instead of what type of items that vendor holds.

Each vendor can only be listed under one category

There is currently a bug that if you register a vendor, and then later want to change the category so you chose to unregister it, the register menu will not open up again until a server restart.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I'll be training Ad3 in the morning prolly. So far no issues with Hire1, or addition vendor 2. Ad seems to be the only bugged tree I have found so far.

Yes, I know my primary server is under my name. I just figured he wanted to know if I also played on his server as a merchant.

And while I do not know the exact formula for merchant XP, it does seem to be based on # of items listed, # of items sold, # of vendors.

If this gives you any of a baseline, I have two vendors one with 300 items, one with 110 items. I sell about 50-60 items a day and restock 60-70. I earn a little over 10K merchant xp a day. That numbers seems to grow with the prosperity of my business.

that number grows because more people come to your shop more offten..

exp is only based on the number of unique visits you get each 15 minutes. as well you get a lump sum of exp every 50 minutes. more people just go to your shop becuase you have more items for sale so it looks like youget more exp if you have more items..

visits = exp

If it's just the 'Use Vendor' choice that triggers the XP gain, then isn't this really, really exploitable? What's to prevent me from getting a group of people with nothing better to do to come use my vendor every 15 minutes?

Thanks for the clarification. BTW do we get any xp for offers. I haven't really checked?

But what you are saying explains a lot of what I am seeing. I sell a lot of consumables and so people buy, combat, come back an hour later, buy some more.

Consumables may not bring in a ton of money, but they do bring in the customers and it looks like the experience as well.

i am aware of the server name, but many people change servers and do not update their forum info. Is it such an important issue that you feel the need to ridicule my questions? I'll answer your question regardless of your attitude towards the questions of others.

1) You get an amount of exp every ~50 minutes based on the number of vendors you have. I am not sure how much exactly but so far i see about 450 exp every 50-60 minutes for having 3 vendors.

2) You get 50 exp every time a unique person *accesses* your vendor every 15 minutes. They do NOT need to buy anything and it does not depend on how many items you have.
