I seem to see this alot with merchants. They give a vendor to someone else to have placed in that person's housing. Then the person becomes unable to drop or destroy the vendor losing the merchant one vendor slot.

Here's how to fix this problem. It may be a bit of work, but it does work.

1. Train the person with the vendor stuck in inventory up to Business III

2. Have them place a vendor terminal in their home.

3. Have them "sell" the vendor in their inventory to the terminal for sale.

4. You buy your vendor back.

5. Don't forget to retrieve.

6. Destroy the vendor as it is now non-functional.

in another post somewhere someone mentioned that giving it to the owner of the building was the way to do it, bc you are unable to place it yourself. That is probably why people are doing it.
