Ok, I now this topic is like beating a dead horse.. but honestly.. something needs to be changed with the turn over of the items on the vendors. I have spent the last month building up my dream tailoring shop and I currently have over 600 items on my vendor. It is an absolute nightmare to get 400+ emails of "your auction was unsuccessful" in one night. I didn't read this message board until after the first week and I once I got the first 200 emails in a few hours I almost quit the game. I play this game to have fun and when the game is giving me a headache and I have to spend hours every week relisting everything.. there is something majorly wrong.

I agree completely, Anthia, and I know a lot of other folks here do as well. The Merchant profession has a lot of problems, but that absolutely has to rank as Problem Number One.Theforced restockingis meaningless busywork that is not only not fun, but is actually driving people away.

While I recognize and fully agree with the principle that the fewer things that must be stored in the database, the better, the correct solution to this problem is to retain the need to restock, but make it a one-click operation. This would requiring retaining pricing and seller's text information when an item is moved to the stockroom so that it can be restored when that item is moved back to the sales floor.(Ifyou wanted to change something, such as the price, then you could simply withdraw the sale and reenter the new information.)Whileretaining these data fieldsslightly increases the load on the database, it's necessary -- having to reenter these fields Every Single Time you restock an item(assuming you can even remember the brilliant sales text youstrained to come up with) is just wrong. I don't fault the developers for not realizing how evil this would be with hundreds of items in stock, but I do expect them to realize it now, and I don't think it's inappropriate to ask them to have mercy on us and FIX this situation.

Finally, this admittedlydoesn't solve the problem of getting 400 spamgrams in the middle of trying to do something else. Frankly, I'd say just don't send "auction unsuccessful" emails -- if you're not checking your vendor at least every other day to see if you need to restock, why are you a Merchant?
