Thread: 7 days on a Vendor?
What is the point of this?
Why do my items that don't sell turn into an 'unsuccesful auction spam' after 7 days?
I AM NOT AUCTIONING THEM!
It is MY Vendor - I put it there - I want it to stay there until it is sold. I am sick of running between my shops on different planetsto 're-sell' items plopped into the Storeroom by the game.
Anyone have any idea why they have this like that?
Worse yet I lost a bunch of stuff that was sitting in the stockroom for a day. They just went poof! (after they went from being for sale to auto in the stockroom).
Careful what you leave in your stockroom overnight, it may not be there when you wake up!
Talk about the ultimate time sink! Between re-registering venders, re-barking venders, AND dealing with the 'expired' items in the staock room, and add to the equation more than one shop, a merchant can spend hours resetting. The server reset always happens in the am, while I am at work, so I lose hours of advertising.
I just read on another thread here that items on the stockroom have a very short life span - to the tune as little as 3 days. There is always some item being returned to the stockroom floor at some odd time. I always make sure I resell stockroomitems everyday to make sure I don't miss anything. There is no indicator how longan item has been placed on the vender for, which would help. I guess I could make a'list', but I spend enough time already on maintenance. I can't go anywhere on vacation, unless there is a capable computer available with internet access!
Well, until our vendors start shooting customers, they are going to ignore this profession I think.
We aren't a combat or crafting class - so they do not care.
The fixes we have had were trivial so far, the profession is not anything valuable and a huge waste of skill points for so little skill.
I am hopeful, but not betting the house on improvements anytime soon.
I think I've thought of an acceptable solution the devs might consider now.
The 7 day nerf is a product of inventory hogs right?
So, put LIMITS on vendors - but make them acceptable.
This suggestion of skill enhancement would be for the Efficiency Tree (since it's trivial anyway for most Merchants)
Business 3 -25 item max
Business 4 -50 Item max
Novice Merchant - 150 Item Max
Efficiency 1 - 250 Item Max
Efficiency 2 - 500 Item Max
Efficiency 3 -750 Item Max
Efficiency 4 - 1000 Item Max
Master Merchant - 1500 Item Max
Some will say - too much, they'll put an inventoryload on the db- I can hear it now.Bantha-pucky to you. Active Merchanst are already listing this many items, inactives far less than the limits. Plus I can store over 1100 Items in my Invenotry and Datapad now anyway - so I've never seen a reason to 'use' my vendor for storage space.
They could use the Item limits to 'add' to our professions value and remove the 7 day limit at Novice Merchant. It also cuts into the dabbling Artisan who we are being forced to compete with.
Make it 30 days if you really need it in there, but give us a one-lcik restock with the same price and Details, please.
Comments?
I just lost 3 Light Lightning cannons and a crate of stim c's to the stockroom.
Left them there overnight as the sale ended late and I was about to logout...
I am not pleased and my weaponsmith may shoot me ![]()
The funnny thing is I have some items that are "stuck" in my stockroom - I am unable to retrieve them...they are still there
