Thread: Another bug that irritates me to no end
When you browse a merchant, the first order you get for items is the order they were put on it. Then, you cansort them by name, price or whatever.
However, if you remove on item, the next item that will be underlined will be the next onefromthe first order, not the order that you chose to display. For example, you put on your vendor a lined shirt, a frock and a robe, it appear in that order. If you sort it by name, you get frock, lined shirt, robe. If you remove the frock, the next item underlined will not be the lined shirt but the robe!
Is anyone else extremely irritated by it? I mean it's basic programming and it makes everything take much longer when I have to put everything back on sale, because no matter how I try to sort everything by name the vendorignores it![]()
And it's the same crap in bazaar!
Yes! Tho i suspect they actually order according to the order the item was Created! - maybe.
So perhaps they sort by default according to serial number...
also i hate they way they split across too pages, ie when over 100 items... as in each page sorts independently etc as opposed to stretching across both pages when you do alphabetical for instance
Agreed in spades. There HAS to have been some real-world, "we don't have time to optimize sort routines, ship what you've got or you're fired" explanation for the bizarre Bazaar item listing style. No Real Programmer would allow the current system to be released otherwise.
1. Items should sort without regard to "page." (Assuming the notion of "pages" must be retained at all.Yet anotherstrike against Oracle.) The Merchant abilityto create"Premium" sales should be implemented using some sort of display line enhancement -- text size, or font, or color -- anything but screwing up the user-selected sort order!
2. The itemsearch system used in the Bazaar on Luclin by EQ is superb, and should be duplicated immediately(with appropriate look-and-feel modifications) by the SWG developers. Period.

The original post bothers me, but the independant bazzar page sorting drives me insane. Try doing a galaxy wide search on the resource page for a certain steel. next to impossible.
I mean the problem described in the original post, not the post itself. Bad wording.

At least if I were going to write something with this bug, that's how I'd write it
Drives me mad. I'd give up this profession in a heartbeat if the Business IV vendor were affordable.
