On an NPC vendor that means that the cost displayed stays at zero.

The actual cost is not zero, but is less than 1cr/hour. Your Maint pool does go down some eventually, and I am told that this amountis reduced by the skill.

Savings are less than 10cr per day, the 9000crI paid an NPC trainer for the box will pay for itself in only about 3 years. Of course, the planetary map ad disapears every morning unless refreshed, so most of the time you are paying for nothing at a lower rate.

Top priority for merchants should be a "Retired Master" badge for giving up the skill.

Believe what it says in-game, not what it says on stratics. In-game you can see what merchant skills do even if you aren't a merchant. In the skills window, just click to show all professions, then select merchant.

I remember in the first few days after game launch....that there were a couple NPC vendors shouting in Theed...but alas.....it was NERFED! (as all seemingly "good" things are)

Says that you can hire NPC's in towns to advertise your wares. I have never seen such an NPC, does it work ?? Please let me know, thanks!

That apparently was what AD4 was supposed to do originally or something, and it was since changed to Advertising Effciency, which cuts the cost of advertising on the planetary map by half.
