Thread: Vanishing NPC Vendors? Your Input!
Here's the deal. My PA has a "mall", in which we have about 15 to 20 vendors. Ever since this mall (a guild hall) has been placed, random vendors will vanish for hours, even days at a time. They will re-appear, but not after a significant amount of time. It is only NPC vendors that vanish, the droid and terminal vendors are not affected. Amount of vendors does not seem to be a factor, as they have been doing this since only a couple were in place. The mall is located on a known server border between Anchorhead and Bestine... perhaps that is the problem? Other causes could be some freakish glitch in the Matrix, or dastardly Imperials kidnapping hapless lackies.
Anyonewho has hadsimilar experiences or insightful info would be great!
The server border is probably your answer. My PA had the same experience. In the end, we picked up the whole mall, moved 50 meters closer to Mos Eisley and replanted it. Solved the problems and we haven't had a single incident since.
Just really unlucky placement ... amazing so many of us manage to do that ![]()
Check behind the PA. They're probably out there having a smoke and sniggering at you.
(Yes, this whole post is a joke. I know this bug is a source of frustration and doesn't feel very funny. But if we can't laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at?)
I have had this problem about 2 weeks ago, and my vendors were gone for about 1 day before re-appearing. CSR got back to me about 3 days later and told them is was working fine.
Now today, the same thing is occuring. I had 3 vendors, all NPC, that have vanished out of my shop. As a DE, I can't really afford to have no vendors in my shop, as I supply many BH with my goods. (all goods are on the vendors)
If the server boundary is an issue, well that's something that SOE should address and not allow you to place any structures on a server boundary to eliminate any issues like this. And in all fairness if this was a server boundary problem, why is it that only the NPC vendors are affected and not the other types?
