Thread: Vendor Cycle Revamp?

I have been a merchant for a long time. Unlike many vendors I keep mine very full and I usualy price my items very cheap. Because of the high volumes I craft at though I always have loads of resell items, things I must sell again.

Tell me, what is the purpose of a vendor cycle of 30 days on a private vendor?

Then only another 30 days before the items are lost forever?

This cycle is very irritating because when I could be doing other things in game with friends I am stuck trying to resell items and dealing with vendors.

The vendor is my vendor, so why is there a cycle at all? Now there is a new bug and the cycle has dumped nearly 200 of my items into the stockroom that is now bugged. Regardless of the bug, I do not want to have a cycle on my vendors, ever. If I keep up payment on my account there should be no reason ever to have to deal with my vendors except to pay maintenence or add sale items.

Imagine you have a Mall where someone has placed a vendor with 1 Item at 999M, and payed 1M maintenance, then he quits/goes on long vacation/whatever.

You would be stuck with that Vendor forever, if there was no forced restock

Imagine a game, with actual customer service, and a CSR who could pack their vendor and all items up into their bank for them if they havent logged online in weeks or months.

Think outside the box for good solutions, dont be a defeatist.

Well if there was no owner activity for say 1 month,Then have it all drop out?

No owner activity for 2 months vendor goes poof.

You don't see Wal Mart pulling everything from the store every 30 days and restocking it all !

Why should we?

This would be less of an issue if restocking were easier thanone item ... wait ...one item ... wait ...

Too bad we can't just use the Shift to hi-lite to resell same priced items at a time like we can use the shift hi-lite to pull stuff from stock rooms, or mass pull sales, or mass delete emails

Excellent idea. It would be great for the current situation if the resell sold all items at the previously posted price or a given price for all items in a group or class.

My suggestion is never to have to deal with this problem at all. How many CSRs do they have? Apparently none. If they have even one he could spend one day per wek to deal with vendors and it shouldnt be a problem if the vendors can only be packed up by a CSR and only if the owner has not logged on or replied to a CSR mail in over two months..

How hard is that?

if things don't time out, the commodities would most likely lag to hell after a while. this is also used to discourage people to pick up merchant, put everything on sale, and drop merchant.

I think most of us agree that the actual cycle isn't the problem, but rather the lack of a relist button... and that's on our top issues list.

I think the cycle is to stop people from getting merchant, listing their items and then dropping. Also, I believe I read somewhere the cycle prevents vendors being used as storage for eternity. Although vendors are used as storage now, but you have to relist your items. If you don't do this, you can play the game keeping items in your stockroom and running the risk of forgetting to relist before they go poof! I agree a relist button would be great. To relist your items at the same price. My biggest complaint is the endless amounts of e-mail you get when the auction is unsuccessful. How about one e-mail? Just my thoughts...

Call me crazy, but with the house pack up thing, could a Vendor pack up be close behind? Who knows just speculating and it would be cool.
