Thread: Dont want to Spam my Vendor

Hi all,

As you can tell, I am very new at this. I have tried to search the forums for the answers I need, but I cant seem to find one for this.


**I just started a new vendor for my merchant character, and I need to get some exposure to build a client base. So far, the only way I see to advertise, is run from city to city spamming everybody. I have to say that I am not crazy about this approach. I know from the other side, that being hit by spam can be a pain, and it usually gets a /ignore soon after. So, is there anyway to gain exposure without making others mad at me. After all, I want people to become long term buyers**

What are you selling? You may get more suggestions from those who can relate to your vendor offerings.


All I can add is this....


Vendor search will bring in customers if your pricing is within the market range. Also, make use of your 25 Bazaar sales at all times if possible and email buyers with your shops wp for future sales.

Advertise on your server trade forums. If your prices are low, list what you offer and at what price. It may bring in customers who are buying more expensive goods elsewhere.

I reccomend geting a merchant droid to "spam" for you. In addition to using the vendor search, planatary map, auction channel, and your Server trade forums.

stock your shop well, and the people will come. I have trouble keeping people *out* of my shop even though I don't advertise anywhere besides plantary map and vendor search

You could:


1. Advertise on the forums

2. place a bark droid and set the timer for something reasonable (say 1 minute, not every 10 seconds)

3. Place items at a slightly reduced price than you normally would, (not price gouge, what I mean is if you have 1 CPU resources, sell them at say .75 CPU, and then only until you gain XP)

4. If it's XP you need, place a 1 CPU entry fee on your structure, this works very well...


Just some ideas to get started and stay off the dread /ignore list...(I know, mine is full of annoying spammers).

5) Sell good products at a good price. People can see your vendor from every bazaar in the galaxy, and can compare your products to your competition. If your products are better or lower price than your competition, then people will see this from the bazaar, and come to your vendor.

I look on the bazaar vendor listings for every item I purchase, and choose the best item in a category that meets my needs. Not every item has a useful category, but the vast majority of them do.

6) Make sure you're enabled on the galactic vendor search.


I spent one weekend spamming my loot & resource vendors just to see if it really helped. I think I sold 5 crystals I might not have (at 10k each), and that's it. Otherwise, my sales were not improved at all.


I never, ever spam my armor vendor, I don't even advertise it on the boards (save for the rare RIS suit), and I have no problem selling stuff. Spamming is highly overrrated these days.
