Our guild/city wants to employ a head merchant to manage our vendors. This way crafters can save more sp for other things and stil have a master merchant to advertise and other merchant duties.
Does anyone do this amd does it run smoothly?
We've been toying around with this idea but cant seem to think of anything that would work so that the crafters are paid and the merchnat is paid well.
thanks in advance

I do this for a majority of my guild vendors since the skill fix, and let me tell you, unless you like a lot of long unrewarding hours, don't do it. If these people weren't my RL friends, I wouldn't be able to handle it.
One of the primary problems is credits and trust,I assume the merchant isn't buying all the wares ahead of time. Bank transfers aren't a good option since they take 5%. And regular transfers are a pain becuase they require meeting up and turns your job into being a delivery boy. What worked for us was that i would total up all the sales for each person and send them a monthly total e-mail - then drop the credits into the Guild Hall Treasury with all the crafters on admin. This obviously requires a lot of trust since any of them could grab the whole credit dump.

Just have the other crafters offer an item to the vendor, make them set the price to the amount of money they've earned. You buy the item offered, this way you don't have to go through the guildtreasure

I used the method also of 'offer a junk item to my vendor' to collect your earnings. Worked incredibly well, but now we have a 5% city tax, so i might as well just bank tip.
