I am relatively new to Merchant, does anyone know if the "word of Mouth" and hiring a NPC works? If so, how can this be done?

That feature never made it into the game. As far as I know it was never even on the beta servers. We heard it was going to be put in but never saw the light of day.

Isn't that what the merchant barking module on droids does? I know you need to have Adv IV to use it anyway.

Not the same feature but you can use Barker Droids in a simular though far more limited way than the NPC barker idea from beta.

When SWG came out there was a guid book, I still have it even though about 99% of the book is out of date, 50% was out of date by day one. Merchant calss listed the NPC thing as a skill, its the trouble with making a guid book during beta. There is a new up to date book with JTL, but I bet the JTL protion is out of date allready, and after combat revamp the rest of it will.
