Thread: Vendors and /Transferstructure (Bug!)

As many of your have encountered already currently if you try to transfer a structure with a vendor inside it you get an error telling you to remove the vendor before you transfer the structure. While I don't have any details or timeframes I wanted to let you know that Tiggs has confirmed that his is not intended and will be resolved. We don't know when yet but hang on and I'll let you know as soon as I have any information about when this bug will be fixed.

I'm also glad to hear this. I recently had an extended conversation with a CSR on this issue (which unfortunately got cut off when I timed out and disconnected -- apparently keyboard activity isn't enough?) -- word from that CSR (Des? -- I'll need to check when I log back in) and a passing supervisor was that this is the way it's supposed to function and I'd have to remove the vendors before transfering the structure. the error response seemed to indicate that it was trying to transfer the vendor rather than the structure.
would you like me to dig out more details? I'm pretty sure I still have the ticket, but I'm not sure if the conversation is still in my chat buffer (sorry, didn't think to /log it at the time)

No its not.
You can sit there for half an hour doing /tells, writing emails, and you get disconnected.
You can run a looping dance macro and be ingame till the server reboot, without ever touching the keyboard or the mouse again.

Can we get a 'best guess' on the timing? Like one month, six months, a year?

I don't have a time frame yet. I would assume that it would be sooner rather than later (i.e. I would assume it would be a hotfix) but be warned: the previous statement is only my personal guess. I have no official information of when it will be addressed.

We ran into this problem on test centerwhile trying to /transferstructure our mall. It appears to be a problem with vendors containing the word"Loot"and the code that keeps people from trading or transfering "loot kits". Q&A was out at our mall checking into the situation this morning so I hope the fix will come out as a hot fix soon.

Yeah, I really hope this gets fixed soon. Before the patch, I loaned my shop to a friend so they could put an access fee on to help them level merchant (since my shop is fairly highly trafficked). Now he can't transfer it back to me unless I delete all the vendors inside. I would have a hard time finding a place to put all the stuff on my vendors, as I'm already strapped for storage since I can't have a storage vendor anymore. Worst part is that this friend is now talking about quitting the game, so if it doesn't get fixed soon, I'm going to either have to delete my vendors or never get the house back. Then the 6 month character purge down the road at any random time, it's just not a good situation. I hope this gets resolved soon.

I can guarantee that having the word "loot" in the coding is not the problem here. I've got one house with only one vendor left in it that doesn't have the word "loot" anywhere in the title and I can't transfer it. Thinking about it, there are no vendors in my shop with the word "loot" either and I can't get that transferred back to me because of this bug.
