Thread: Realistic Vendor Maintenance Solution
Machine type vendors have a fixed maintenance fee per day. The lower the level of merchant skill needed to obtain the machine vendor, the lower the fee. Machine type vendors should also have a small percent chance to break/fail every day or so(I SAID SMALL CHANCE, not 10%), that would require extra money to fix. Perhaps Master Artisan's make a "Machine Vendor Repair Tool"? (The vending machine in our office breaks like twice a month)
NPC vendors have a fixed salary. As you turn on more options, their salary increases. Ad Barking, Global Advertising, Uniforming all increase their salary. I wouldthink thatthe extra non-player race NPC vendors should have a slightly higher base salary also.
Other Possible "Money Sink Increase" Solutions
- Every 50 or 100 items put on Machine Vendor increases likely hood to break. Every 50 or 100 items put on NPC Vendor increases their salary.
- Fixed % sales tax paid to the Galactic Money Sink Commission.
- Every separate item category on the same vendor increases failure rate or salary.
I have neverliked how Machine vs. NPC vendors have no real distinctionsat all. Cmon Devs, lets figure out how to give the Merchant class more character... not nerf it for the newbie Merchants. If there even are any. ![]()
Personally, this change won't hurt me. I have a successful 6 vendor shopping mall with tons of customers each day. I will simply consolidate onto one vendor, lower the amount of items stocked, and put "1 credit tokens" onto the vendor for any high-dollar items. This change will however, KILL and DESTROY any struggling merchants just starting out. So for the overall long-term benefit of the Merchant class, I definitely vote against the current vendor maintenance idea as it stands now.
"The lower the level of merchant skill needed to obtain the machine vendor, the lower the fee."
So, the better you are at being a merchant, the more you have to pay to run a vendor? Clarify this please ![]()
i suppoer you idea JediPhr33k
