I have noticed a common event .. the sign says "store"

yet i go in to either find no vendors .. or the vendors that are inside have no products to buy!

when do you stock your shop and how much product do you place on the market?

Personally i stock the shop about 3 times a week. when i do stock i add 25-50 items to each of the vendors, this tends to hold the shop for 48hrs or so.

I have 4 vendors in my shop and a good base of customers the products i sell are made by medics, architects, miners and others that i have made aggreements with.

Why is your store Empty???

Until today I would have said that that's a good question, merchants need to work to maintain their stock if they want to build up a loyal clientele. However, I just logged in and found NO stock on two of my vendors! I know it all didn't sell, I don't have the credits, and I didn't get the e-mails.

Easily have over 800 items in my main shop and over 300 items in my satelite shops. My problem is over stocking so know i just put 10 of each item and then drop the rest of the crate in my storage room in that shop for stocking purposes.

It doesn't matter how often I restock, my items sell so quickly. I'd have to be crafting every day for a few hours a day to maintain enough stock. I now only restock on wed and friday..unless factories don't work. I even buy items from 3 other tailors and still have trouble keeping a fully stocked vendor. I think its in a great location thats why. I love the buisness but it is very difficult to keep up with demand!

I try to keep a variety of items and a good quantity at all times. I can't be sure when someone will stop by, and I know I don't revisit stores that don't have anything for sale.

one of the reasons of the post was to get some of you to think of how you run your shops.

I've seen many a merchant complain that they cannot make any money.

Well, in a few days, *all* vendors are going to start looking like this, so get used to it....

i'm a power broker and i usually stock 70k units of power on my vendor. I have much more in reserve. I tend to restock daily as maintenance is very high *5k/day* so i just can't afford to stock more... but i've never run out when i've had stock in reserve. Always keep it stocked daily.

I stock my vendors daily - and I sellout almost everyday. At any given point I probably have 0-100 items for sale.

Which leads me to one of the great conundrums of this game: I HAVE to log into the game everyday (to check harvesters, pay maintenance, and stock vendors) if I am to have a chance at building a client base. If I don't re-stock I will lose customers that have come to expect my merchandise to be in stock. Once vendor maintenance fees are adjusted - this will make the problem worse since a large inventory is now a liability.

Well apparently I do things in the dumbest way possible. I run a furniture shope by and have the factory right next door. Since making all the available furniture by hand is an almost imposible task if you want to keep up I tend to make it in the factory in runs of 100 items that usually come in crates of 10. What I then do is unpack one crate put it on the vendor. Then put the remaining 9 crates on the vendor. Depending on the item I will leave 1 or 2 crates up for sale (torches chairs etc stuff people may buy alot of) then I push the rest into that place known as the "STOCKROOM" on the vendor. I know what you are thinking well thats a **edit** silly place to keep stock for a shop in the stockroom. Well I suppose Sony got the last laugh on me since yesterday the stockroom was magically unstocked, crates of chair, torches, bookcases ad nauseum decided to go byebye. Its not that I don't do a pretty fair business somewhere between 50-300k a day which btw I'd like to point out blows most small furniture stores near me in the RW out of the water. My vendor routinely has 5-600 items on it for sale with a total of probably 2-3million in inventory out for sale, about 10million in the stockroom for restocking. I visit my vendor every day to try to keep stuff in stock and even run missions to aquire some of those hard to find items for the home like baskets and speakers, and if I knew where to run missions for the unmakeable plants I'd run those just to keep my vendor stocked. Now will I keep those levels if sony jacks up vendors probably not, Factorys will hold 100units in the input hopper so I can get 100 units of storage per factory. I'll set up a small showroom with furniture and rename all the pieces to include there price and just have people email me with orders. Might keep a vendor with nothing on it up as a drop box for stuff but frankly that falls into the silly stupid catagory as well.
