I have novice merchant now and am wondering what exactly getting more hiring does? I would assume you get to choose more species but wanna be sure,

i have hiring 1. I can choose male/female of all playable species.

I have Hiring IV. I can choose from a wide variety of species.

However, the game lies to me and tells me that at Hiring IV, I can (now quoting directly from the popup on the skill box) "gain the ability to customize his vendor's appearance. Hand your vendor a piece of clothing and a weapon and they will wear it. Note that normal racial clothing restrictions (like the Trandoshan's inability to wear boots) still apply. Items given to the vendor in this manner can not be regained.

However, Dante, my human vendor, thanked me for the 'new duds' I gave them, and promptly ate them.

No where in here am I given the ability to customize my vendor. Nope.. my Human Male vendor is the same ugly, short, fat blonde guy that everyone else gets.

All in all, with the merchant class being so totally broken, and now under the gun of extortionist vendor fees, I'm going to sacrifice my merchant points as I need them for things I can actually use, and (gasp) things that actually work.
