How the heck do you track people visiting your house vs tracking actual sales? You get a notification on sales, but nothing on visit. I even tried to set a 1cr access fee to enter and that doesn't flag me...any idea?

You can't, unless you sit there all day and count. You get some fixed amount of exp every time someone pays the fee, so you can get a rough idea by comparing exp totals.

This was idea was batted arround a long time ago, but I think most of us have enough trouble tracking our actual customers.

Yea. I would be happy if I could see reports on sales without having to type everything into an external database!

/agree

it would be nice if we could even just export the mail to a text file. I could parse the rest and load into my database. I hate hand entering sales.

I would like the friend list to stop resetting. I am now on my time updating comments and groups.I am going to have to open up my screen shots and fix them all.

Agreed. This is the single biggest problem I face right now is hand entering in hundreds of sales daily in order to do any realistic tracking and reporting. A simple thing like "Dump Email to Text" which would dump all of my email to a text file would allow me to automatically import the data and make up for the serious lack of merchant tools in the game.

Technically the game does allow you to do it. Place a 1 credit entry fee on the structure, check the emails versus the emails from your vendor. That should give you the results you are looking for. (What would be nice is if there was a way to explain why you are charging the entry fee and perhaps that you will refund it back to them with their purchase).

You know you can copy and paste chat and mail. But not Item Desc

It might not be the ideal solution, but it's a start.

You have to go into the Options, and look for the Key Map (UI or MIsc can't remember). Select the All tab, look for the Chat setting and there's Cut, Copy an Paste. Select one of them and click the Binding button. Then just press the key combo you want to use, like Ctrl-Ins and Shift-Ins.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

You can paste the item description, you just can't copy from it once the item has been put on sale. So save your favorite descriptions in a separate text file, and viola!
