I am curious, why this is not listed as a please fix item.

They added additional vender categories, awhile back. Can't remember how long ago, but it has been several weeks back.

Most of these categories remain empty, for what reason I know not why.

Many items are on the venders, that fit within this further categorization, but remain in obscure or incorrect categories.

This happens to merchant venders as well as bazaar's.

Is there a chance to get this issue brought to the forefront?

I've seen this issue brought up on other professions boards. They list miscategorized items that should be recategorized and their correspondents taking that forward as a fix.

It's probably best handled from that lvl. The devs likely don't have time to run thru all game items themselves to see if they're categorized properly.

A Droid Battery is listed under Misc, but not under a sub category.
