I have been noticing for some time that I was selling items on my vendor whilst I was logged off - but no money seemed to be coming through to my bank account.

Initially I thought that I wasn't keeping track of my buying and spending habits, and had miscalculated the money in my bank (the amounts being sold were small amounts).....until today that is.

I have found (and this has been since verified by others on Valcyn), that if a trade on a vendor goes through whilst you are logged out of the game, the money gets taken out of the customers bank, but does NOT go into your account. ie; the money for the transaction just vanishes.

As a test, I had a customer of mine purchase a mixture of medium mineral miners and some resources (total value about 110k) whilst I was logged out and had exited the game. When I logged back onto the server, I had the notification emails letting me know the transaction had taken place, but my bank balance was the same as it was before I logged - the money has just vanished!!!

I then got the customer to make some more purchases (about 60k worth of deeds and energy) and the transaction and money went through fine.

At this stage, I know of lots of people on Valcyn who are now pulling everything they have off their vendors and restricting vendor usage to only sell items they know are going to get collected whilst they are logged in.

/Bug reports have been lodged and a CSR ticket has been created - but I understand that this bug has been around for a looooong time without any resolution.

My question is - have others on other servers been affected by this? and if so, did they manage to get any money back from the CSR's (I conservatively estimate that I am down about 500k since I have had my vendor running).

There are reports that the money can be delayed, sometimes by days, in clearing your bank.

I have to admit that I don't keep close track, but I do see variations from what I would expect from the emails in both directions. I attribute it to the same devil that causes critical failures, and if some never shows up that is just a cost of doing business.

I hope you see your 110k within a day or two!

I hope so, was depending on that money to do some other things, guess I'll just have to sit on my backside until it (finally - if ever) comes through.
