Merchant Archive
Thread: i'm not a merchant but here is an idea
+5 workers and +5 sellers as master merchant..
i think these new type of hires can basically do what factories do for you, except, since these are sentient beings that puts things together for you, you basically give them anything to assemble for you.
basically make it work like any other factory, input a schematic, resources..etc.
let each worker be a total rate of one factory, that is...let each worker take 1/5th the speed of a factory to assemble something i suppose. and as a master merchant, when you have all 5 workers, give it a bonus modifier..like the more worker you hire, the rate at which they assemble things increases a little by 2% per one worker added to the scenery... as they say , you get more motivation with someone, then alone.
anyway, i figured this could be a good alternative for someone who doesn't have enough lots to run a factory...etc ..
this wouldn't make factories obselete, as they will be able to assemble things at a much faster rate...but the advantage of a worker would be that its not specific, they can assemble anything...
and as another consequence of hiring a worker to assemble things for you, apply critical failures to them, .. and the critical failures of assembled items gets less the more workers you add, (total of 5)..
anyway, feel free to build on this..or what not... not sure if this is a bad idea or not, i just wrote this in 5 minutes, ..more realistically, 10 minutes..i think..
Ok. Assuming that this is workable, and I'm not saying it is or it isn't, why put this into master merchant? We aren't crafting anything in the merchant line. We are selling things. If anything that should go to the Artisan line and the Artisan forum right?
I personally wouldn't want to spend our time trying to convince the devs to make a change like this when it has no real value to the class. It is only valuable if you are a master merchant with other artisan based skills.
