Why is the default category setting for vendors By Region instead of This Vendor???

Makes no sense to me.

The bazaar should default to This Planet instead of This City (sorry, can't remember exact setting).

Things that make you go HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

The "Region" setting in our vendors and the "city" setting in the Bazaar are the same setting. The difference is, on the Bazaar, there is no setting for items just in one particular machine. So they actually default to the same setting.

Well..... OK.

I see you point.

But what I was looking at, there are 3 settings and the bazaar defaults to the first setting, and the vendors default to the second setting.

Actually, no that wasn't what I was looking at I was looking at what default setting would be most useful to both merchants and customers.

Opening a vendor tab and seeing what items you have on ALL your vendors makes to friggin sense. That's not what anyone wanted to do when they opened that one particular vendor - they wanted to see what was on THAT vendor.

I would classify it as a bug.....

I remember when you looked at Available Items on a vendor and you'd see all items on all vendors AND the bazaar.

They finally changed that because vendors aren't bazaars. It just confused people.

Tnx for your help.

Functions as designed.

Personally I sue region more than anything else. the only time I go to vendor is when I am reorganizing vendors.

My main gripe is when I have to repost dozens of sales on my vendor and the dummie shows be junk on other vendors.

Besides having to set the stupid thing every time I go into each vendor.

I haven't tried reposting items on other vendors from the wrong vendor, but I bet it doesn't work properly and I don't want to lose anything trying.

I restock all my vendors from one vendor. Items go back on the vendor it came off of. You actually need to remove the item to place it on a different vendor as i well know from last night, when I reorganized.

I learned about this the hard way. I probably just was not paying attention, but when I very first became a novice merchant, I wanted to move all my stock to an NPC vendor. I put it up, looked at it and thought "Oh cool, the stuff is already on there." I failed to notice "This region"vs. "This Vendor" . Then I deleted my old robo vendor. Ooops! Lost about 95 items, but CSRs reimbursed me. (Which was nice considering it was my ownconfusion that caused the loss.)

This was several months ago. I just became Master Merchant a few days ago. I still learn new things about my vendors every so often.

No!
Way!

I'll have to try that.

In the same structure?
On the same planet?
Or anywhere in the universe?
