Thread: Warning: Items lost while multiple retrieving
If your inventory is full and you retrieve any number of items, you get an error. Good.
Now, if your inventory is not full and you select more items than you can hold (using shift select), and click retrieve...no error. You receive items up until your inventory hits 60 and the rest of the items disappear. Not in your inventory, not on the vendor...gone.
I was using the feature to relist my stockroom, to get the new 30 day auctions. I kept wondering how I just managed to hit 60 items exactly several times in a row. Upon closer look, turns out I didn't...and I've lostmany important items.
So be extra careful while doing this, as I know many of you are pulling/relisting stockrooms to get the 30 days. I have to wonder why the developers who code this stuff don't actually think through all the basic scenarios when testing this stuff. The first basic exception case is to test what happens when you retrieve more than you can hold, obviously never checked.
Oh, I bugged it and also filled outa service ticket for the missing items I knew about. No, they did not return today after logging out for the night and the server reset.
This bug will potentiallyeffect every single merchant. It will effect every single transaction on the bazaar and vendos. Every player who buys more than 1 thing at a time and tries to retrieve them. The shift click to get multiple items is new functionality, so it's not heavily used today. It will be over time, and quickly. It's a common windows interface, and makes things MUCH easier for retrieval. Customers will start sending you emails asking what happened to their items. Merchants will start losing large amounts of stock when they relist over this coming week. Merchants will get hit from both sides, from angry customers to losing their own stock when relisting.
I recommend every one of you test this bug with a worthless item, verify it's happening and realize the consequences, and fill out a /bug on it.
This worked ok for me. I recieved an error message... Multiple times, cause i wasn't reading it.

Falkirk, are you POSITIVE you had under 60 items when you received the error message? I lost several items today due to this horrible bug, and clearly there is no error message if you have 59 or less items. Only at 60. Please triple check and come back to this forum and re-post your findings. Will be interesting if you're the first I've heard from that actually doesn't get this bug somehow, will make it much harder for the devs to find it if it's not 100 percent. It was extremely simple to reproduce if you follow the steps exactly.
I am somewhat concerned that you just saw an error message, read this post, and responded with mis-information. You may have been only selecting 1 item to retrieve at a time. Or you were at 60 when you selected 2+.That makes it even harder for the devs to notice the issue, cause they might think it's not reproducable easily if some don't get it. You have to have under 60, not 60, and select enough to put you over 60.
I'll retest and get back to you. I am probably mistaken.
Falkirk
I was wrong, and i apologize.
I lost anything i retrieved over my item limit while selecting multiple items without an error message.
(I /bug it)
Falkirk
I have /bug'ed it and posted a CSR ticket.
I received a response from a CSR today. Turns out, he states this is not a bug, that it is intended that you lose all your items if your inventory is full. Check out this thread, and keep it bumped for attention. This response is unbelievable.
