Guys I always hate going to player vendors as you can literally spend hours finding what you want.

To add to that some vendors which carry good stuff arn't listed on the planet map and some vendors which are listed on the planet map with a title like 'PVP Stun Composite' actually contain crap.

So...

Would this workwithout affect merchant in any nagative way?

from Bazzar I can go to search Vendors-> Armour-> Body Armour -> Composite -> order by price

the cheapest piece of Composite Body Armour a Merchant has (in stock!)comes to the topas he's the cheapest in the Area/Planet/Galaxy (whateverI select).

I can then purchase it, getting a WP (not the item) I then have to swoop over to the vendor as normal to pick it up.

Down side I see you guys will have to be even more competitive as Mr 'Cheep but Quality' Merchant is gonna get the bulk of the sales.

The plus side being where at the moment people are so sick or running around trying to find stuf the first time them find a so-so vendor then stick with it, now the trade will move from vendor to vendor based on who is offering the best deals.

any comments?

cheers

This has been suggested numerous times, but the majority of the merch forums shoot it down. not to mention the devs i believe have given a resounding "NO" on this subject. We are however hoping for a "Galactic Kiosk" or something of the sorts where merchants can advertise under a more finely tuned system than the PAC and also be allowed to enter an "advertisement". Similar to how the Bazaar is used for shop advertisements now, only this will be a place where only advertisements are placed and wp's are downloadable, and you can advertise any shop on any planet on the galactic kiosk ... i advertise on the bestine kiosk, it will show up on the coro, dant, dathomir, endor, naboo ... ecetera.

The merchants tend to want MORE customer interaction, not less. The introduction of a bazaar that is linked to EVERY vendor would totally negate the PAC, which is a 3rd tier merchant skill. It would take away incintive for ppl to actually want to be a merchant. Why not be a BizIII and let ppl buy the stuff off your vendor from the bazaar? As this is what would happen under your proposal with no restrictions. There is a reason why there are so many vendors that aren't advertised on the PAC ... the reason being that they have not invested the skill points into Advertising III of the merchant profession to be able to do so.

I belive if you ask the owners of those vendors though how their business is ... that they would not complain too much. Word of mouth is the best advertisment there is.

As well, I know that I personally would miss the time the customers spend at my shop browsing through my vendors. The main item I sell is Star Wars Hero Outfits, which I have displayed in the store. If the customers do not come to the shop, they would not know what the outfits looked like (unless they took the time to go to the website, which for some reason seems to be too much of a hassle for most of them). The only items in my store that are on display and not for sale are 3 anniversary paintings, some candles, 2 modern end tables, and 2 small potted plants. Everything else that is in my shop you can buy off of one of my vendors. This gives the customer an idea of what they can find on my vendors, and it gives me a reason to decorate my shop.

Please, dont take this as a flame, cause we love having ppl come in here and suggest ideas. But this is one that has been beaten with a dead horse several times hun.

Even if it were a popular vote amongst the merchants, the devs have already said "NO" ... data overload issue I believe. Which is understanbable. Think about how many vendors are listed on the PAC ... then imagine at least half of that number would represent those not on the PAC. Then imagine how many items each of those vendors holds ... and add that to the already overloaded bazaar. it would just be way too much to sort through and way too much information for the bazaar system to hold.

There are a number of reasons why allowing purchase of private vendor items from the bazaar isn't a good idea. The biggest one is the chance for loss of money because the vendor simply isn't there when you get there or it isn't accessible to you without a fee. The other reasons from a merchant perspective is that it limits the browsing people do of your vendor and turns you into just a pickup location which I don't personally think is a good idea.

I do however support the "search kiosk" idea that has come up before and is part of the top items we have sent to the devs sevreal times. The concept is basically a search system for merchant vendors that allows you to search for items you want before you go out. You can't buy them but it can give you locations that have the specific item you are looking for. Some merchants support price listing here some don't. I personally don't mind competitive pricing so I would be happy with it. Others aren't happy about that part of it and we should consider carefully before deciding how that part should work.

Not being (or ever been (apart from the Holo Grind))) a Merchant (for more than 1 day if I remember rightly) I totally support yout argument for not having remote sales, however the search idea is a must...

What I'd like to avoid,as a customer of you guys is ....

Planet Map -> Vendor -> armour -> vendor called -->> (low enc PVP composite, always stocked'), I bus it over there and the dude has 1 piece of bone armour at 99999999999 credits so the vendor keep appearing on the map...

So......

I tend to stick to the first/close/half decent armoursmith who not to0 far out of Coronet

resulting in.....

no other armoursmith (even though they may be better/cheaper) getting a sniff of my business.

on your side guys, hope it gets sorted soon.
