But if they fix this at some point in the future, there's no telling what might happen to your tent and its contents.

Oh, I wish!

I'd love to test that "absolute power corrupts absolutely" theory someday.

"That old argument" didn't hold water with the vendor certification fix. If they fix the tent certification, it won't hold water then either.

And perhaps Hiring 4 someday too. *wonders how many vendors would revert to default clothes, underwear or naked*

Just for the Record here is my PERSONAL opinion about this subject (Note this has nothing to do with my waning official duties)

I don't think that Hiring IV should ever be changed so that it is required to maintain the vendors you have already hired. I think it should just not allow you to change them. I understand the arguments for it but I don't really buy them.

I think the Merchant Tent certification should be changed so that if you drop Efficiency IV the maintenance on the tent goes up to a very high rate..like 150-200 credits per hour. The point of a merchant tent is that an experienced merchant is operating it. It is not designed to be owned by non merchants and people who used to be merchants and the more tents that are used for non merchant purposes the less meaning there is the the tent as a symbol that vendors can be found inside. (I totally suppor OTHER structures that would indicate the same thing for larger busiensss i.e. malls)

I don't think anything will change about this in the forseeable future however and I don't beleive there is a strong enough feeling among most merchants to make it a #1 priority. There are plenty of other things that should be addressed first.

I'm sure it will be quite obvious if they ever decide to change that. Just look for the rising smoke from the flamewar...

Then again... the tree only gives us the ability to PLACE those structures. Like somoene else said, once you lose the ability to craft speederbikes, you still get to keep any you made.
