How come I only have the option to do this min/max deal on my own vendors and not other vendors I go visit?
What am I missing?

Do as I did: bug it...besides, just pretend it isn't there (as it really shouldn't be because it's worthless)

It shouldn't be on our vendors at all, it's supposed to be only in the bazaar/gwvs system. In *that*, it's very useful, since it makes it a lot easier to search for crates of 5 of something than 25, or just plain getting rid of all the 9999999999 priced stuff.
This, added with the new text search, brings things a lot closer to the EQ bazaar search, which is what I'd been hoping for since first hearing of the GWVS.
Now, if we can just get rid of the people who're selling undercost somehow. They're a problem with or without vendor search.

The version of it on your vendors is so you can search your own vendor.
Other players cannot see it and you can't see it on theirs.

Yes. That was a very nice surprise feature for those of us with vendors all over the place.

I love this as well, makes it much easier to see what I'm out of and what i need to stock ... especially on powerups

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it on other people's vendors either.
If you're looking for something specific and they have a billion things in the category, it can come in handy.

Worthless?? I think its wonderful!
I keep my crates of components in the stockroom of my storage vendor and with this new search I just have to type the first few letters to quickly grab the crate I'm after. Great for when customers are waiting on an item
