My first profession was Master Artesan/ Master Tailor. I was doing great on the galactic vendors and almost by accident became a Master Merchant. I was never one of those girls who filled up 12 vendors but it was nice to have. Over time I was making a comfortable living between selling factory crates, BE Clothing, Resources and the ever present loot vendor. It was not unusual for me to make between 500K to 1000K a week. When I started my second account the game was so much more enjoyable as I was able to "sugar mama" my alt. So half my time was harvesting/tailoring and managing my vendors and the other half was killing things with my alt and selling the booty on my (fashionable clad) vendors. I had a good life, so good in fact I started a third account.
Then this recent change hit. The limit shot up on the galactic vendors and everyone could search and buy everything from everywhere. I did not realize just how much of my business was going to get sucked out of me. Since the last update I am lucky to sell 50K a week. This latest change totally screwed my revenue stream that I worked hard to develop.
I feel like a caterpillar employee who was making good money then got laid off.
Because Master Merchant has been made worthless I have had to grind Armorsmith in order to stay in the money. If SOE wanted to destroy Merchant it could have been upfront anoout it and then let the Masters respec. This was a sh!tty thing to do.
My mouse is hovering over the "cancel account" button.

I too feel like Master Merchant was heavily, heavily watered down by the vendor search, since anyone from B3 on up can get the same advertising (on a very broken system). Ironically, my sales have gone up, but I would trade it for making the search be skillpoint reliant--as it should be.
SOE has fallen into the trap of watering down the niches to make the loud masses happy, rather than realizing that the *true* masses understand that it's a game of niches--and likes it that way.

I too have made a lot more money with the current vendor search system having some of the oldest vendors about on lok on my server
and I must admit filtering to the exact item i require is really really handy yes i agree it has marginalised merchant skills but surely this is the time to start thinking of how to fill our half full glass again

The only thing I can think of would be more advertising mediums. The way the economic system is designed is basically your market bazaar. A global flea market as it were. So if they added marqueesand billboards where Master Advertisers couldhave visual displaysand have commercials on the holonet. I'm not really sure what else they could do. The profession has been dealt a severe blow.

I don't know if it's a blow so much as an insult, but it's really something I'd like to see fixed.
