While I will not condone the tone, the overtintent is important, IMO, Doc.
If any whatsoever is addressed at this conference, you correspondents should be pushing for honest answers to the storage issues. With probably 75% of the vendors disappearing structure lots should all increase to a full 75 per lot expended for houses/guild halls.

I absolutely agree that the storage limits should be increased. After all, if you are a crafter, resource storage becomes insane! Amoung my two main characters I am a tailor, bioengineer, weaponsmith and armorsmith so I think I need every resource in the game! That said, what does storage have to do with the merchant profession and what does Doc have to do with it? Most professions have enough of their own problems to deal with (merchant especially so) and should not be asked to ignore its own issues so that they can fight for other people's issues. This particular one is one that should be brought up in the Core Systems forum.

The reason it comes up here is that most merchants are also crafters so it is a topic they are very familiar with and very passionate about. Frankly I have inventory issues myself and I don't even have that much stuff, but I don't support massive storage like we had with vendors being unlimited. I suspect we might have better luck getting storage relief (but not massively so) once the devs have shut down a few of the places that are being abused for storage.

I am all for most of the changes they are proposing AND to be honest it will affect me the least, while I am a master WS/AS/Art I also have merchant 3044 and another acct as master merchant (didnt know you could keep vendors after ya droped the skill :smileyvery-happyso ill be able to cope alot better than most. The issue of using vendors for storage has been an merchant issue because its merchant who use vendors.
Doc I am glad you remember the thread I was talking about, and im not talking about unlimited storage. I would like like to be able to go into my house/shop and not have lag trying to load like when its on the vendor, Crates and resources thrown all about the place or seeing 3x the amount of houses because without a storage fix thats what you will see. Thier will be cross server lot trades like never B4.BUT as for the tone of this tread it is dead on, even if not sugared down the DEVs gave the ok for people to use vendors UNTILL the housing storage issue was fixed. With the limits imposed and now them being encouraged to remove the pack being counted as one item is wrong. All Im saying is keep your word!! FIX the storage problem even if its a vendor you can set up that has no sales option or planetary map and just 500-1000 items that dont count against the cap. FIX the storage issues first.
The problem is that you are asking them to keep a promise they never made. The quote you are refering to had NOTHING to do with housing storage. It had to do with the fact that the devs KNEW when they changed the vendor maintenance rate to have no cost based on the items you put on it that you would use the vendor for storage but allowed that "for now" it was better than you putting it on the floor of your house anyway. That doesn't equate to a promise to give you more storage. As for the oft quoted promise to "look at the house storage issue" that isn't a promise to do anything about it either.
I don't know where you see me being 'hellbent' anything. I didn't support item limits but I don't support using th vendors as storage either. I also can't just pretend that it makes any sense to limit the item storage on a vendor to 4k and then leave in a loophole that allows you to store 50x that. That was never going to fly for very long there is no point in a 200k item limit that is effetively unlimited so begging for it to stay defies logic. I have been working with the devs to get relief on some of the situations that item limits brings to the merchant community.
I have my own inventory issues as I have said and I would like more room but its never going to be the massive scale that some people want.
