Thread: Vendor Item Category Problem
I did a quick search and didn't see anything on it, so I'll ask... has anyone else see where items are not categorized properly so that when you click on the vendor category they don't show where you expect them to?
I'm talking from a Weaponsmith perspective with 3/0/4/4 merchant skills. For example...EE3 Carbine, Laser Carbine, DH17 Carbine all have something in common..they are ranged weapons and they are also carbines. However, when you go to the "Carbine" category (under weapons of course) only EE3 and DH17 carbines show up. Laser Carbines will only show up when you click the "Ranged" category.
So if a customer wants a carbine and looks under the "Carbine" category, he's not going to see all the weapons available to him.
So is this known? (or, working as intended
)
Oh, you mean like deeds, factory crates, components all showing up in sections other than the ones logically labelled in the vendor display tree? Yeah, essentially, like the bazaar, no goods sort according to what you would expect them to via the listed hierarchies.
Buildings Dont show up in installations or the sub-tree of Deeds,
Droids don't show up in their sub-tree.
Factory Crates don't show up in the material types that they are of.
Components don't show up in the base tree of the material type they are, they show up in random areas in the Misc-> tree.
And good luck on knowing where things are in a vendor/bazaar unless you list them yourself. I've had numerous customers fail to see products b/c vendors default to 'area view' instead of 'vendor view' so they get all my inventory (800+ items) instead of the targetted vendor they have selected.
Why can't they either A) fix the sorting according to WHAT IS LISTED and built into the listings already?
or b) add a search functioanlity so people can query for a product they need?

Actually, I discovered what is happening in my case. They added more categories to all the weapons. Anything previously listed retained their old categorization. Even if the auction expired and you relisted it, it would keep the old categorization. The only way to get an old item to get the new categories is to retrieve the item and then resell it again.
Incidently, old sales that expired and put up for sale again without retreiving would retain the 7 day auction. Only items placed for sale from your inventory will get the new 30 day auction.
Thanks for the rant though. lol ![]()

You have? From what I've seen, only the vendor owner has that option. Weird.
