Thread: Question about those that don't have merchant skills anymore but still have vendors...

With the proposed changes to vendors, what will happen to those of us that have vendors but have dropped our merchant skills? Will our stuff just go *poof*????

yes i believe thats what will happen though you are in the fortunate position of at least knowing that it could happen soon so if i were you id get me some factories and start storing stuff out of the vendor

Hmmm, this is really upsetting, i wont be able to just be a chef and sell my chef goods. I have to be a chef and a merchant...bah humbug!

I think that what will actually happen is that you won't be able to list new items, that the items you have will eventually "time out" to your stock room if not sold and if you dont pick up the items from stock within seven days, they will go poof.
You will get a warning email when you vendor sales area is empty and within two weeks after that, your vendor will go poof.
As crazy as many believe this change to be, I dont think they will simply wipe out vendors belonging to toons that dont have the skills....
Check some of the threads (including TC) to confirm this but this is what I remember reading on some of the dozens of recent threads on the subject.

your stuff WILL NOT GO POOF. your vendor will shutdown until you have the proper skills.
You can however remove the items from the vendor and then go to the theed SP and do this
/shout selling 8 sets of composote Armor...send a tell for price and stats.
What also may happen is when the vendor shuts down the items will go to the stockroom and if not picked up from the stockroom in the proper time the items will go poof.

All ideas and thoughts expressed here are completely conjecture. The devs have, as usual, said nothing.
For my two credits, I think it will be easiest for the coding to check to see if you have at least Business III and, if so, then it will let you place items on your vendor.
