Thread: Merchant Correspondent List (Week 2)
Hello all, (due to the board burp, my long post was lost to "page not found")
First Please Read This:
I am working hard for the merchants.
I have been sent PM's, people are sharing with me there issues and concerns. Some of the PM's have been rather gruff and rude. Guys, I play this class, I am a merchant, I am not a "this or that" that happens to have a shop, I am a real merchant as my choosen class, I have 2 shops and about to open a 3rd.I sit in my shop for hours on end, and speak to people that come in and helping people.
I say this because from the PMs I have recived make me want to readdress a point...
I have been tasked to come up with the TOP 5 issues for the class. We all know that there are a lot more than 5. Not ever issue can be covered every week, and issues that are "supper issues" to you, may not be one of the top 5 issues. So please, don't send me nasty PM's because your issue did not make the list, you are not doing a service to you, or your class. I read this board, almost all of it, I respond to almost every post in the merchant forum. I know what is going on, and I ask for feedback from all of you via this post. (One of the only Corrospondants that do this, at least that I know of) So please please do not take it personal if your issues is notaddressed every week.
It is hard to come up with the top 5 issues when last weeks were not addressed at all, so there is going to be a few repeats.
- Two show stopping defects need to be addresses RIGHT NOW.
- The stockroom defect is killing us. We need to get what we put in the vendor out!
- The resource defect. Details: If you take a stack of 1000 chicken legs, and split them into 10 stacks of 100 legs, and place them in the vendor. You will see all 10 stacks. When someone buys one, and goes to retrive them, they will get all 1000 chicken legs, and the other 9 are still for sale, but now can not be retrived. This means that 1 person get the 1000 chicken legs for the price of 100, and 9 people get screwed. This is a defect in NPC vendors only. I have not seen this terminal vendors.
- Vendor fees for droid and terminals are VERY VERY high. I have seen fees as high as 10,000 a day. Given the broken Ad Tree, and the lack of ways to show we are a shop, merchants do not have the client flow to handle this steep fee. There is also a reverse issue with NPC's Charging almost NO money.
- NPC vendors are being killed by griefers all over this place. Many merchants (Including me) have had to shop from a corpse. This needs to be corrected.
- There is an issue with items in the vendor counting aginst the max number of objects in the house. If there is 100 items in the vendor, then you can only place 150 items in the shop (Max is 250)
- Vendor issues (Some improvments, some bugs)
- Remove the time limit on vendor items
- Allow us to change the price without removing the item
That is the proposed top 5, I also want to incluse some improvments, because I think it is not fair that I have to address known bugs.
- We would like to see... All of a resource types should be placed in a vendor, and a price set on a per unit basis. , and the user can buy what they want. A popup comes up, with a slider. So if I have 10,000 chicken legs are in the system at 3 credits, a user can move the slider to 100, and be charges 300 credits, leaving 9,900 in the vendor.
- Make houses sectioned, so we can have some room for ourselfs, the entry list will be used to see who can enter all the house. This way we can place "private" vendors or just have personal space.
- A way to change the elevation of an item, so we can "place" things on tables. Without having to place it on the steps, and drag it all over the house.
Okay guys, let me know what you all think, I will send it in later this evening. Forgive me for spelling, I have had to type this out twice.
My all-time #1 issue is "Vendor Access List". I need people to be able to place vendors in my shop.
#2 is item limit as 250 sucks to run a shop with 15-25 vendors in it

I'm doing same thing as you Marqie just I supply my own weapons to the shop
Soon as the vendor list is fixed I can expand my domain to other planets but it's just not worth the time or effort till they fix that bug. I can't afford to transfer my house to someone so they can place a vendor with 3 million credits in factory crates on the floor and a very elaborate entry/admin list.I think merchants will be worth the time invested eventually if they listen to us. ![]()

More of a nuisance than a major issue...
If you have more than one vendor in a structure and register them with the planetary map, the overlay city map becomes illegible, as the vendor names stack on top of each other.
That's a good top five; all crucial issues.
At some point, we should have a few weeks of "top five improvements" to the profession, but obviously we have to hold off on those. I hope you're saving all the threads on that subject, though, because there have been a lot of really good ideas.
Good list!
-I just gave up 200,000 units of unretrieveable resources, and refunded about the same amount in credits to disgruntled customers. For the privledge of paying 3500 credits a day I now have a terminal vendor instead of my pretty Twi NPC for resources. I'm not complaining about my business, but it seems prettypunative when the vendor right next to it costs me 0 now that I have Efficiency VI.
-Please fix vendor/admin lists so we can make Bazaars, Cantinas, and other mixed-user properties. A guildhall should be useable by a GUILD..it's unreasonable to assume that one individual is going to be responsible for 20 rooms. What if I don't want my own place?
-More impressive skills for the Merchant tree..+5 vendor for Master =not exactly worth it eh?

Number one issue for me is the stockroom bug.
I think we're talking the same bug here... the one where at Novice Merchant you proudly place your first vendor... initialize it and open it up to see that you (apparently) have full access to your "stockroom" and so go ahead and delete that ugly terminal that you've been looking at since business3... and discover that since your vendor UI DEFAULTS to a "This Region" view that's been invalid since the last few weeks of beta3 that you've just lost all the items that you had on your first vendor... THAT "stockroom bug"?

Yeah, I hate that one too. Good call. ![]()
I would like to add one.
On remove vendor add a confirm dialog box if there are items on the vendor.
I just lost over 200000 credits worth of wholesaled merchandise last night cause I went to click status and accidently hit "remove vendor" cause my mouse was dirty!
I guess I really didnt need to sell those houses and factories. ![]()
