Thread: A question to all non crafter/merchants
If I as a tailor were to sell my items to a merchant instead of selling them myself what kind of wholesale discount would most of you be looking for. Would you just be making a small percentage over the wholesale cost or would you want a really deep discount?
For example let's say Gunman's Dusters.Being that they are such a hot seller, what kind of discount would you be looking for on that.
I would sat 20% or so. If you can sell it for 1000, sell to a mercahnt for 800 or so. You can also work out a deal to buy other parts (like resources) at a cut rate.
I ask for 50% off retail due to the price swings...for example
Bone armor - sold for 2k-4k for a helm - now - 500 and it still will not sell - I paid 1k-2k for it - can not sell even at a loss - I ask for a large discount because someone somewhere may at any moment undercut the market price and leave me with stranded stock.
I ask for a large discount because if the product sells I buy tons and sell it to the people - The crafter gets lots of product out to the public with little effort and get Usage exp.
Now I dont lose money this way, my customers pay market prices, and the crafter has an outlet for large amounts of there stuff.
I have even worked deals where the crafter gives the stuff to me free and I pay him his cut later..60-70 percent of the sales price because I am using there money - Cash flow is an issue at times when you buy 250k worth of weapons ![]()

Yeah, Cash flow can be a problem, at least to begin with..
I wish they could implement some type of feature where you could specify a % cut of the sale price to go directly to the crafter..
